Bentwood box (part a) and lid (part b) with one side pf lid raised. Box has abstract Northwest Coast design elements painted on all sides, in red and black. Cedar bark rope is tied around the box. Killer whale and sisiutl-like designs in black on the top of lid and the raised portion.

Long and narrow wooden cradle, with a high rounded top and legs that would make it rock. The sides and the foot end were steam bent and nailed to the top end. All of the exterior sides are decorated with a Northwest Coast distributive design painted green, orange and back. The image is of a sisiutl with the central face at the foot end and the two serpents down each of the long sides. There is a wooden bar across inside at head.

Open work basket with a rectangular base, soft sides, and a oval-shaped rim. Base is plaited. Cross-warp twined weave alternating with checker work. The weft of the checker work (excluding base) is black cedar bark. Braided rim. In the plaited areas the weft strand is dyed black, giving an alternating pattern of dyed and natural coloured stitches in a 1:1 ratio.

Lunch BasketA1839

Rectangular basket with simple interlocking coiled work, bifurcated stitches, parallel slat lid and base construction with graduated reinforcement stitches and 'twilled' effect on lid. Basket also has a two coiled handles and is decorated with beading. The lid has beading in black-dyed cherry bark in a 2:1 ratio along the circumference of the lid. The body has cat-tail grass at the top (one row per slat, in a 2:2 ratio). Three other slats have beaded decoration (3 rows per slat) in black and in red cherry bark in a 2:2 ratio creating a checkerboard pattern. Lid is attached to basket with thong hinges.

Openwork basket with a flat, rectangular bottom, straight walls, and an oval-shaped upper rim. Coiled basket with parallel slat base construction. Two rows of splint foundation with bifurcated stitches. Sides also have a splint foundation wrapped with cedar root. At half inch intervals (staggered) a coiled stitch is taken and the stitch is wrapped. The result is an openwork basket. Undecorated.

Simple brown and natural-coloured coiled work basket with bifurcated stitches and watch-spring base construction. The base has a hole in the centre. Basket also has a flange and a high rim. Decorated with partial imbrication. Double vertical design similar to that of an hour glass shape in red cherry filled with bullrush, separated vertically by a row of undecorated cedar. Red triangular design on rim filled in by bullrush staggered with other design.
