Mask1373/20

Mask with two horn-like projections that point upward and curve convexly. The horn-like pieces are linked together in the middle by a square decorated with a white X-like design, on a black background. The horn-like pieces are decorated with red-brown, white-grey, and black geometric designs of lines, triangles, and squares. The helmet part is decorated with red-brown, white-grey, and black triangles on the upper half and horizontal lines on the bottom half which extend to two squares which protrude outward at the sides of both ends. The eyes are carved out as vertical rectangles. The nose, mouth with teeth, and beard are geometric rectanglur features. Fibre rope is threaded through the holes made along the sides of the mask.

Round, dome-shaped, white-brown carved object with a grey geometric pattern encompassing the border. Two grey carved lines run the circumference of the object, with a star-shaped flower-like shape radiating from the centre on top of the dome.

Round, dome-shaped, white-brown carved and coloured object with a geometric pattern encompassing the border. The main body consists of a circle divided in a tic-tac-toe manner by two sets of parallel lines. The centre square has a diamond shape carved in it, with four more diamonds carved in the squares adjacent to the central diamond's four corners. The four corner squares in the tic-tac-toe arrangement each have a right angled chevron-shape carved so that, taken together, the four shapes appear to be the corners of a square. All of the shapes are coloured with double, grey, thick, pencil-like lines and are deeply carved, creating negative space around them.

Ornament1373/62

Round, convex, white-brown carved and coloured object with a zigzag border encompassing it. The main body consists of a circle divided into three sections by two vertical double lines. The middle section features a thick zigzagging shape running from top to bottom while the two outer sections each have a rectangular shape with one side curved to follow the circular outer edge of the object as a whole. All three carved shapes contain carved, raised ribs, thick, grey, pencil-like lines, and are surrounded by negative space. The top of the object features a protruding, angular design with two small carved circles and a small triangular hole at the apex.

Antelope headdress. Elongated face with two horns that are covered with line carvings. Carved out of one piece of wood. The large curved neck has bars across it and incised cuts in the mane. Four legs are attached to an oval-shaped base.

Ornamented, gold leaf covered handle with a long tail of horse hair attached to it. Top of handle has a flared, circular knob upon which a carved, golden rooster sits. Hair is bound in red fabric with two bands of green string at the juncture with the handle.

Rattle1373/46

Wooden rattle with egg-shaped head and thick, round handle that gets narrower towards head. The end of the handle and edges of the head have a cedar bark fringe. One of the sides created by the fringe has black designs of a central double headed sea serpent, or Sisiutl, with a copper above its head and geometric shapes below it. The other side is a large face of a Sisiutl in red and black. The background of both images is white.
