Gong Beater1170/26

Beater with a wooden shaft and head of tightly coiled, twined, red and white cord. Shaft has four rounded waves at its end, each with an incised band around at crest. The handle than tapers slightly toward head before flaring to a flat area with three incised lines right below the head. Top of head and handle end are both rounded. Head is slightly bulbous.

Gong Beater1170/22

Long, thin beater of a light wood shaft and tightly coiled, twined cord head. Both ends of the shaft are blunt; head end is wider than handle end; handle is bulbous and then flares out to a recessed area of six rings of different heights. The area of the shaft around which the cord is twined is recessed so that the head is flush with the surrounding shaft.

Roughly carved beater with a thick, flat handle and a perpendicular, cylindrical head; handle has rounded edges and head has rounded ends; handle is of darker wood than head. Head is decorated with carved, swirly floral designs on sides but not ends. Handle has similar detailing on flat sides near head and end.

Gong Beater1170/17

Gong beater with a wooden shaft and a globular fabric head. Shaft has handle area that is wavy with two incised bands around each crest top of shaft near head are five alternating sharp and rounded protrusions; top of head is a round, domed disc. The head is made of stuffed red fabric with lighter red yarn wrapped around it forming diagonal crosshatching.

Gong Beater1170/27

Beater consisting of a dark wooden shaft and a red, cloth head. Shaft has a small knob at the head end and then two grooves around it below the head. It then tapers to a band of floral decoration with six bands of raised rectangles followed by another thin groove and another knob with a hole through it at the handle end. A dark ribbon is through the hole in the handle knob. The head has lightly felted red cloth with visible white edges wrapped around is several times.

Straight, round, wooden beater. One end is decorated with two carved bands, one of triangles and yellow zigzag line and one of red circles with white centres. The other end has a handle area formed by two sections of three incised bands with one red and one white band painted between them.

Beater consisting of a wooden shaft and a rubber head. Shaft has a small knob at the head end and then two grooves around it below the head. It then tapers to another thin groove and another knob at the handle end. The rubber is in two sheets and is held around the shaft by two rows of nails.

Manuscript1176/22

Long thin panels linked together with a string and two metal coin-like pieces at both ends. The coin-like pieces are inscribed with characters. There are seven flat inner panels with the top one lighter in colour than the rest and the bottom one upside down. One side of each inner panel has a line of writing characters. The other side of each inner panel is decorated with two pictures of dancing figures in costume with a landscape backdrop. In between these two pictures, there is a square with a diagonal floral design. At either ends of each inner panel is a w-shaped floral design separated from the picture by vertical lines. There are two outer panels with are more rounded on one side which has a rhombus pattern around which there is a floral design. The outer panels are red-brown with the design etched out to reveal a light brown. The pictures on the inner panels are black on brown.

Pair of white, red and black striped stuffed objects with rounded sides and protruding conical tips. Flat ends opposite the conical tips are sewn with white fabric gathered and folded over on itself, creating a loop.

Collar1176/9 c

Flat, circular, golden collar with a protruding, zigzagging border around the bottom half. Collar has elaborate, arabesque-like cut-out designs and eight circular and drop-shaped mirrored insets; red fabric backing shows through the cut-out designs. A thick fringe of long black fur-like hair protrudes from the edge. A safety pin secures the collar's ends together.
