Belt composed of dark brown and off-white longitudinal alternating bands with light green, pink, purple and black diamond and triangular patterned embroidery in abaca fibre (?) with a blue and a green multi-braided fringe on either end. Headdress composed of a woven band, solid red at the centre with white warps visible at very few places along its length. On either end are matching bands of multicoloured design. The multicoloured designs consist of: six-pointed stars, a nine-stepped design, stylized animals and birds, chevrons, frontal figures, triangles, and arrows separated by solid, narrow bands of dark purple, green, dark blue or blue. Finished with bunched pink, magenta and mottled grey tassels of numerous ply (spin relaxed), knotted with one band of yarn.

Sash with a multicoloured embroidered repeating design depicting various figures and geometric shapes on a dark red ground. A repeating row of paired off-set white stitches forms a border along the weft selvedges. The figures and other design elements include scroll edged medallions, an upright figure with a double plume on its head, diagonal double lines with a small flower at the base and a parallel line with perpendicular lines crossing.

LoomSa200 a-h

Back strap loom (parts a-h) with associated pieces. An unfinished textile is stretched between loom end sticks (part a). The weaving has been started at the top of the loom. Loom is warped with multi-coloured stripes of solid and resist-dyed cotton ikat (jaspe). Detailed are black, yellow, green, blue, purple and white stripes on a red ground. Intertwined in the warp is a flat, rectangular batten with triangular, pointed ends (part b); a cylindrical shaped heddle covered in white twine (part c); two rectangular sticks of wood with semi-circular indentations (parts e and f); a shed role (part g) and two thin wooden sticks (parts d and h).
