Ladle3326/46

Long-handled ladle with a cup-shaped bowl. The handle has small hammered squares lining the edge, and crossing the centre five times leaving X-shapes. The end of the handle curls under creating a loop which a copper ring is threaded through. The side of the bowl has a lip for pouring.

Mirror3326/45

Mirror-like object with a flat disk-shaped reflective surface and a decorative bronze handle. The handle depicts a seated male, hands on knees, smoking a pipe. He wears a headdress, chest is wrapped in an X-shaped harness(?), and his genitalia is exposed. His cheeks are marked with three lines. The iron(?) disk has a hammered decoration around the edge, creating an eight point asterisk design.

Bell3326/42

Agogô(?) bells composed of two similarly sized bells attached by a U-shaped piece of metal at the top. Each bell appears to have been formed from a single sheet of metal, folded, and then "pinched" at the top leaving one edge on each bell with a wide flat seam. The reverse reveals the seams and points of attachment from metalworking.

Thorn Carving3326/40

Thorn carving depicting a seated figure reading books. The figure sits with their back against a tree, and book resting on their raised knees. A second book rests on the ground next to the figure. Figure adhered to a rectangular pressed board base. Inscription on base reads: "No man as God."

Thorn carving depicting two figures, one a dentist, the other a patient. Figures adhered to a rectangular pressed board base. One person is seated, while the other stands, bent forward slightly, a holding a stick to the other person's mouth with their right hand. In their left hand they hold a jug, similar to five other containers sitting on a table top next to the two figures.

Thorn carving depicting a teaching scene. Figures adhered to a rectangular particle board base with corners cut off. Scene features five figures seated around a panel of text. Four figures hold stick-like objects in their hands, but the figure on the end has an empty hand and appears to be missing his stick.

Thorn carving depicting a village scene. Figures adhered to a rectangular particle board base. Four small cylindrical huts with conical roofs are situated one in each corner. The hut walls and ground are layered with a grayish earth(?). Around the huts, eight small figures. At centre, three women, two with children on their backs, are sweeping and stirring jars. There are three male figures, one carrying wood and two seated.

Drum3326/24

Large cylindrical drum with skin membrane stretched over six large angled wood pegs. Deep relief carvings around the side of four standing male and female figures and one large disembodied head. A male and female figure each hold a staff in their left hand, and offering plate in their right. On the opposite side is a drummer and a dancer figure. There are four short feet at the base.

Staff or dance wand. Wooden carving depicting a male figure riding on horseback. The figure has what appears to be a snake draped over his shoulders. The horse is disproportionately small. His elongated head sits at an angle on his long neck. He has large eyes and three horizontal lines on each cheek. Extending up from his head is a large double axe-shaped headdress that curves down to points on each side. The handle is cylindrical and plain, with a small looped end.
