Basketry Quiver1719/27

Tubular quiver that tapers slightly towards the bottom. Quiver has a long thick hide and cotton fibre strap that is secured near the top and bottom of the quiver with strips of hide. The upper portion of the quiver basket is decorated with alternating strips of light coloured grass and reddish-brown bark.

Double Cross1590/67

A Lorraine Cross with double rounded bar terminals and bottom terminal. The top has a cloverleaf terminal with a hole in the centre. There is a zigzag pattern engraved on the surface. Maker's mark stamped at the base of the cross.

Shallow crown headband. Two raised ridges around lower edge, then a row of cutout ellipses, then cutout hearts. Upper edge has reverse scallops with small circle cutouts in peaks. Zigzag line engraving around edges and cutouts. Band rivetted together. Maker’s stamp in three places.
