Large cluster of circular glass gems with one light blue gem near one end. Gems are secured with a four-pronged claw setting. There are seven gem parts that extend from the larger gem cluster by way of small spiraled wire parts. Two larger gem clusters are arched. On either side of them, there are two single rows of gems with six gems each. In between them, there are three longer single rows of gems. They have an extra three gems attached to the ends in a flower formation.

Lantern with two central posts connecting two red-painted wooden discs from which one has a inward protruding metal tube. Seven arched spines go from top to bottom disc and around these spines is attached a gauze fabric. Fabric is painted in four sections with central floral designs. Three lines are around top and bottom in orange, white, and red from centre to edge. The spines are painted red where there is no fabric covering them. A shiny lacquer covers the fabric. End discs have metal loops protruding from them: one on one end and two on the other. End with the single loop has red string loop through it; end with two loops has a connecting metal wire from which a loop of white fabric tape hangs.

Rectangular box with hinged lid. Interior is a shiny silver colour and outer surface is painted ? in repeating circle and flower patterns in gold on a dark red ground. The lid latches closed with a sliding bar and loop mechanism.

Pagoda PropEdz1622

Four-tiered hexagonal representation of a tower that narrows towards the top. Roof areas hang over the edges of each tier, and are painted red with black shingle lines. The tower itself is light blue with painted white brick lines. There are small black coloured arched windows on each side. The paper structure is held together by a long bamboo pole that runs the length of the tower. It is secured to the structure by a split cross-bar at the opening near the bottom.

Cantonese Opera Prop1704/8

Decapitated head opera prop. Representation of a human head. Hollow head with bamboo loop sticking out of the top. The bamboo is wrapped in a grey coloured fibre. Head has painted black coloured hair, painted red lips, and painted eyes and eyebrows. Head is open at neck. The inside of the head has strips of bamboo that are tied with fibre and is lined with newspaper (paper mache).

Cantonese Opera Sword1704/11 a-b

Cantonese opera prop. Part a is the sword and part b is the sheath or sword covering. There is a scalloped wooden piece attached to the side of the sheath that has two holes in it near each end. A large wooden bead is attached to a beige coloured fibre cord. The cord is strung through the two holes near one end and is secured with knots. The sheath and sword handle are red and are decorated with gold coloured scrolled and dotted designs.

Cantonese Opera Flute1704/16

Cantonese opera prop. The flute has a bone mouthpiece at one end with black stripes and a series of holes down its length. The black stripes consist of a wrapping of thread covered by a black adhesive. Stripes are grouped at each end: fourteen near the mouthpiece and twelve at the opposite end. These sections are separated by two stripes paired in the centre. The holes cover the lower half (away from the mouthpiece) and are spaced between stripes in line. Two holes are on the underside at the opposite ends from the mouthpiece. The flute shaft is blocked by a bamboo joint.

Prop horn. Silver, metal horn with a lacquered wooden body; the wooden body has seven finger holes. End of wooden body is covered with a silver, metal fitting. The long reed mouthpiece is attached to this metal fitting. Part a: body of horn, part b: bell-shaped metal end piece, part c: mouthpiece.
