Cable-backed, double recurve bow, made of musk ox horn. The main body of the bow is a long thick slab of horn, with copper rivets holding it together at its joins. Behind the horn is a layer of dark brown hide or skin running the full length. Each end of the horn bow has a knob projecting up and down, around which many strips of hide lashings have been wrapped from end to end. The lengthwise lashings are wrapped widthwise by other hide lashings and then the full thickness of the bow is wrapped near each end and in the middle. The bow string is looped around each end knob, and hangs loosely.
Shaft of an arrow with no fletchings. The nock end has two opposing diagonal cuts that come toward each other to form a blunt end. The other end has both a hole and a slit cut into it lengthwise into it to facilitate hafting the shaft to an arrowead. There is sinew wrapped around both ends.
Footed arrow consisting of a wooden and antler shaft, a copper arrowhead, and no fletchings. Its nock end is oblong and has about a centimeter of wrapped sinew on the shaft above it. The other end has a both a hole and a slit cut into it lengthwise to facilitate the hafting of the antler component. It is also wrapped with sinew. There is a depression near the nock end where fletchings would have previously been attached. The antler component is inserted into the hole of the wooden part and is attached to the arrowhead by a socketed tang. The arrowhead is almost pentagonal in shape.
Harpoon (part a) with a detachable head (part b). Harpoon has a cylindrical steel shaft inserted into a wider wooden handle. Ends of wood are capped with copper(?). Hide cord wrapped around bottom end in a loose spiral, before tightening into a thick band; hide acts as a handgrip. Second hide tie knotted around base of metal shaft. Top of shaft tapers to a point, for head to fit on. Harpoon head consists of an oval-shaped blade, with a sharp point, welded to a triangular holder. Long rope line strung through hole drilled into centre of holder, creating a large loop. Rope is secured together at intervals.
Small awl made of antler. Elongated shaft tapers to a point. Carved circular finial at the top. Awl has a natural curve, dipping in the middle.
Pair of boots made of wolf skin. Legs and vamps are covered in white fur, soles are light brown hide. On either side of the boot heels are two long hide ties, meant to be secured around the ankles. The top openings are edged with canvas-like material, through which is threaded a dark pink drawstring. Bottom edges of openings are trimmed with three decorative bands. Top rows have an alternating white and dark blue triangle motif; second are plain yellow; third are green with scalloped edges, with a shiny, gold-coloured diamond motif overtop. Interiors are unlined.
Harpoon (part a) with a detachable head (part b). Harpoon has a flat shaft, made of two pieces of antler riveted together, that narrows to a point. Shaft is inserted into a wider “V”-shaped piece of antler, riveted to a cylindrical wooden handle. Knife-shaped, antler blade secured to opposite end of handle with hide ties and copper nails. Hide strip woven through the bottom centre of wooden handle. Strip held close to handle with hide and rope ties. Harpoon head consists of an oval-shaped steel blade, with a sharp point, riveted to a triangular holder. Long hide strap strung through hole drilled into centre of holder. End of strap has a loop handle.
