Item Search

The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Unmodified ShellEXU12G0011400

This shell was loaned to Phoebe Anderson from 12/8/2005 until 8/11/2009 for faunal analysis. Samples were taken from the 1st, 4th, 8th, and 12th buckets to perform taxonomic and size analyses. Additionally, five shells per level, preferably Protothaca staminea (common littleneck clam), underwent destructive sampling in order to analyze seasonality of occupation and to reconstruct the past environment of the Pacific Northwest. Anderson's analysis is described fully in her dissertation, A Gendered Model of Prehistoric Resource Depression: A Case Study on the Northwest Coast (2009), and full analysis sheets are attached to this record. AKT 10/20/09 One shell from those identified as P. Staminea in this level was removed for Isotope analysis by Phoebe Anderson. The sample was prepared and submitted, but the results of the analysis are missing from Anderson's final database. The remaining shell from the analysis has been returned to its original bag with a similar note. K. Lutz 1/11/2010.

KWL, 8/26/2009 Five P. Staminea were selected from this level for Isotope analysis by Phoebe Anderson (2009), but the samples were not submitted. The remaining shell (and mounted thick sections) have been tagged as isotope samples and returned to the proper level bag in the collection. K. Lutz 1/11/2010

Unmodified BoneEXU12F0122400

Fish bones from this bag were loaned to Robert Kopperl from 5/16/2006 until 12/21/2006 for faunal analysis. The bones were identified to taxon and element, and any evidence of bruning was noted. Kopperl's full analysis sheets are attached to this record. NAB, 8/19/2009 Non-fish vertebrates from this bag were analyzed on site by Kris Bovy from January to February, 2006. The bones were analyzed in terms of taxonomic affiliation, abundance, and modification. They were sorted into five main categories: bird, mammal, reptile, amphibian, and unidentified. Bovy's full analysis sheets are attached to this record. NAB, 8/19/2009 1 piece from this object id was identified as shell during Bovy's analysis and was integrated into object id EXU12F0121400.
