The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

A small single beaked cobble tool. The rounded handle is smooth, and cortex extends to the beaked portion. The belonging is a medium brown with some off-white spotting, some reflective particles, and a fine grain. Some use-wear present along the beaked point, most noticeable on the right side of the point from the dorsal face.
A large hand maul base that has been sanded down smooth. The belonging is a light grey with a beige tinge, polished down; the exposed surface has a fine grain. Some scarring along the polished surface, and on the bottom of the base. The handle has a few tiny chipped off sections, and some light fragmentation along the base.
The base of a hand maul. The belonging is a desaturated beige, with some dark grey scarring and a coarse grain. The base is convexed, with some light improper-usage damage around the edges. The flat band around the base was previously sanded down smooth, but the handle remains textured. The base is also roughly triangular in shape, opposed to the standard round base.
A very large unfinished nephrite Adze. The belonging is green, with stripes of black, with white speckles throughout, the surface has been grinded and polished down. On the dorsal surface there are two small flaked off sections. It's unifacially bevelled on the dorsal surface, with a possible unfinished second bevel on the ventral surface as it has been end flaked. The ventral surface' sides have also been sanded down to make a flat surface that gradually drops off the sides.
A large slab of slate with some cortex present. The cortex is a smooth, medium grey with some off-white negative scarring. The exposed surface is dark grey from scarring, and fine grained. Roughly rectangular in shape, with jagged layered edges.
A large andesite fragment with some cortex. The cortex is a smooth, medium grey with white speckles and small streaks. The exposed surface is a medium grey with some reflective mineral particles, white speckles, and a fine grain. The belonging has a smooth rounded end on one side and a triangular jagged end on the opposite side. A patch of smudged black is present near the jagged end, on the cortex.
A small piece of chert debitage. The belonging is a medium grey with a very fine, almost smooth, grain. The dorsal face has a negative bulb, and the remnants of a large compression wave from the initial impact of the removal, with compression ripples extending length-wise. An impact site can be seen from the ventral face, with negative scarring and compression ripples. A few small flake arrises are also visible.
A small tertiary flake. The belonging is a reflective dark grey/black with a fine grain. The dorsal face is flat but textured with very clean-broken edges. The ventral face has mostly clean-breaks around the edges, save for the jagged straight edge. Some compression waves from impact are present and visible from the ventral face.
A small secondary flake with a small patch of smooth, light grey cortex on the dorsal face. The exposed surface of the belonging is a dark reflective grey/black, with a very fine grain. The dorasl face has three impact sites. One is to the left of the cortex at the distal end, and the other two are on the right just below one another. Some flake arrises present on the dorsal face. The ventral face has some compression ripples extending down from the cortex length-wise.
A very small secondary flake with a fair-sized patch of cortex given it's size. The cortex is a smooth light grey. The exposed surface of the belonging is a dark black with a very fine, almost smooth, grain. The dorsal face has no worked features, and is flat. The ventral face has a small bulb of percussion just below the cortex, and some jagged edges.
