Paper Model Boat3292/11

Paper model of a boat. The boat is made from folded yellow paper with printed red characters and symbols (swastika). The sails are made from the same paper, and hang from two bamboo masts, which are all strung together by red and burgundy thread. There are bamboo rails on both sides of the boat, each with three vertical bars and one rail. A short braided cord of multi-coloured thread is tied to the prow. Another length of the same thread is tied from the prow, wrapping around both masts, and then is attached to the stern.

Small wood carving of Vishnu as Tirupati. The figure stands on a tiered burgundy platform, directly under a white, green and pink striped arch. Another larger, more ornate arch behind has columns painted on each side, and the top has a white face at centre. Both hands are extended out, with the right hand holding palm out, and fingers down. The upper body and chest are painted black, while the hands and feet are gold. The figure wears an ornate headdress with a gold cone extending from the top, large ear ornaments, chest ornaments, and sarong.

Textile3292/12

Ikat textile with repeating pattern and centre seam down length. Matching pieces of brown weaving with yellow-brown, reddish-brown and black patterning - possibly depicting shrimp, birds, seahorses, lobsters and other creatures - and, divided by a large section of reddish brown across the centre with repeating designs. The two pieces are stitched together, creating a large textile with a centre seam down the length. The textile tapers in at each end, where it is sewn to a woven band, which then extends into dark brown fringe.

Acrylic folk painting on paper. Painting depicts Durga conquering the Demon Mahisha. The figures are all set below an archway. Durga stands at centre on a solid red background. She is depicted with yellow skin, wearing a red and black garment, and has a third eye, and ten arms - each holding something different. The other figures are, clockwise from centre, a bull, Mahisha with bright green skin, a lion and a cobra.

Miniature painting of Krishna Gopala on silk. The body of the painting is framed by a wide painted border of pink and light blue lotus flowers, with fern-like leaves in between. Within, another thin border of red with gold details. At centre, Krishna Gopala stands surrounded by a herd of cows. A peacock stands in the foreground next to a body of water filled with lotus. Many of the cows and Krishna are adorned with peacock feathers.

Miniature Boots2897/20

Miniature boots made with red wool tops, a fur section for the length of the boots and plain skin feet. The foot portion has green embroidery thread woven around it. Multi-coloured embroidery thread tassels are attached on the side at the tops of the boots. Tied together with embroidery thread.
