This depicts Shinagawa Station (#1). This is one of a series of reproductions of the "53 Post Stations on the Tokaido Hwy. from Nihonbashi to Kyoto (Hoei-do edition)." Print is matted on a piece of white-yellow paper and has an additional cover page that folds over the print. The cover page has a printed inscription that reads: "SHINAGAWA The vicinity of the present Yatsuyama-Bashi. The neighborhood of Anamori at Omori is in the background." There are Japanese characters to the top, right and bottom of the printed message.

This is one of a series of reproductions of the "53 Post Stations on the Tokaido Hwy," from Nihonbashi to Kyoto (Hoei-do edition). Print is matted on a piece of white-yellow paper and has an additional cover page that folds over the print. A printed inscription on the cover page reads: “ KUWANA At this spot the Tokaido Line does not follow the old Tokaido road. Travellers [sic] went by boat to Kumana in Iseji and then to Yokkaichi." There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.

Print is matted on a piece of white-yellow paper and has an additional cover page that folds over the print. A printed inscription on the cover page reads: “ SAKANOSHITA About two miles northwest of Seki. One sees Fude Sute No Mine (Paint-brush Throwing Peak). It is here, tradition says, the famous painter Motonobu Kano threw down his brush as he could not paint such beautiful scenery." There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.

A printed inscription on the cover page reads: " FUJIKAWA An annual procession on Hassaku (August 1) to present horses from the Shogun to the Mikado. It is said that Jiroshige followed this procession and made sketches along the Tokaido." There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.
