This is one of a series of reproductions of the "53 Post Stations on the Tokaido Hwy," from Nihonbashi to Kyoto (Hoei-do edition). Print is matted on a piece of white-yellow paper and has an additional cover page that folds over the print. A printed inscription on the cover page reads: "HAKONE Generally considered the most unique of the Tokaido series. It is an unusual example of a very fine print using only primary colors. The view which shows in one picture Mt. Komagadake with Mt. Fuji on the opposite side of the circle of the lake, is particular ingenious." There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.

Komayama; Mt. Fuji and Mt. Oyama are to the right." There are Japanese characters on the top, the bottom and the side of the printed message.

It seems to indicate the road to Zushi and Kamakura, along which one sees the famous Kanazawa Hakkei (Eight Views of Kanazawa)."
