Birch bark basket bent and laced into place. A twig splint ringing the rim is overcast, with wide stitches for reinforcement--seven blue opaque glass beads are laced onto the rim. The white side of the bark faces outwards, with a strip of brown bark running underneath the rim as reinforcement.

Rectangular, footed basket (a) with a flat, fitted lid (b); sides flare from bottom Simple coiled work (bifurcated stitches); parallel slat base and lid construction; slat flange on body, raised and indented from edge; overcast rim; slat and splint foot: imbrication and beading. Lid: partial beading. Top: large stitches in red cherry arranged in diagonal rows, with double-row rhomboid figures in bullrush and red cherry. Sides: total imbrication. imbricated pattern: geometric black figure with red inner band all against bullrush ground; two on each side, one on each end; bottom row completely in red cherry.
