Si-Si-Ootle Serpent1666/8 a-k

Deep, rectangular sisiutl feast dish (part a)with two sisiutl heads protruding from either side (parts h and i))--long red tongues (parts f and k) protrude from these two heads. The protruding heads and the two sisiutl faces painted on opposite sides of the dish all have curved red and black fin-like ears--two apiece for the faces on the dish (parts b-e) and one each for the protruding heads(parts g and j). Dish is painted using red, black, green and white paint.

Model Totem Pole1666/9

Light brown wooden model totem pole with dark brown, green and black painted accents. From top to bottom, figures depicted are: a thunderbird, a raven and a beaver with its tail curled up between its legs. Protruding from the top of the pole is a cylindrical segment with three carved notches encircling it. Pole stands on a wooden base.

Cylindrical whistle that tapers at one end to a mouthpiece for a whistle; mouthpiece has one hole in end and one hole in diagonal cutout from one side. Two bands of coiled fibre go around circumference: one at end of diagonal cut and on at other end of whistle.

Basket1666/3

Square woven basket with an open top and slightly flared sides. Bands of red and black coloured patterning run both horizontally and vertically around the basket. Four small loop handles made form strips of leather are tied near the top of the basket, two each on opposite sides.

Shopping Basket1666/2

Rectangular coiled basket with popen work triangles at top of long sides and scalloped edge on top of short sides. Two handles go across shorter dimension near centre. Basket is decorated with dyed bark with a butterfly at the centre of each long side and a bird at the centre of each short side. flooral decorations are interspersed over rest of surface.

Square wooden box with flared sides and two perpendicular wooden dividers sectioning the interior into four equal spaces. The outside and inner compartments of the box have all been painted with black, green and red designs featuring distinctive form lines, ovoids and split u forms.
