Forest scene at night with several groups of people surrounding a central tree. The upper group wear loin cloths and carry spears and swords. The bottom groups are mainly clothed in shirts, skirts and shorts, one carrying a drum, another a flag, yet another with a sacrificial pig in front of a fire. The central tree has bright yellow and orange leaves and a thick trunk, from which crawls a man. Two larger trees flank it, holding both dark and light green and leaves.

Painting depicting a tent treatment centre and medical operations. The scene is of a temporary outdoor cholera hospital made up of many small tents, metal sheds, and a large circular white tent in the centre of the image. People walk amongst the tents, many headed for the central structure called the “Centre Traitment Cholera". A Red Cross ambulance unloads a man and a crowd waits patiently. The majority of the people are smiling. In the background are several tall trees, shorter palm trees, a multitude of flowers, houses with people going about their daily activities, and a dark blue and purple sky.

Tall cylindrical jar. Neck is concave with a flaring rim, and a smooth slope to the sharp shoulder. The body is made of 9 long, somewhat irregular facets. A thick glaze covers the jar inside and out in a mix of dark yellow, red and black. The base is unglazed.

Tall cylindrical jar with lid. The jar’s body is slightly concave, flaring at bottom as well as top to where a wide mouth contains an inner rim to hold the lid (part b). The base angles inward to a smaller round foot. The body texture is of small encircling lines and is glazed black and orange-red. The interior of the pot is white with a small amount of orange. The lid sits down inside the pot’s rim and is round and shallow with a tall, thin round handle in the middle. The lid is orange on bottom and top outer edge, with a black centre and handle. The top of the handle is also orange. The base is stamped with an oblong circle with an ‘I’ shape in the centre.

Small rounded jar, vertically oblong. A small mouth is encircled by a tall and slightly flaring neck that narrows toward the shoulder and contains a spout on one side. The pot sits atop a small round foot. The body is glazed a uniform shiny black, while the neck is a flat brown, the mouth orange. The foot is unglazed. A maker’s mark is carved into the foot--possibly a flower or looped initials.

Dark brown cylindrical jar with an interior round opening passing from top through bottom. The piece is possibly a candle holder. At top there is a small mouth with a thick rim, surrounded by a large round plate. Beneath this is a thick round neck, leading to a slightly wider midsection with several irregular squared facets. Below is a long, concave base with a single carved hole close to the bottom. The piece is glazed a uniform dark brown, with an unglazed bottom.
