Utility bag of printed mill cotton with self-covered hand straps. Made of sturdy undyed mill cloth, design printed in red. One side has a seated anthro-zoomorphic figure with head of elephant and body of man with four arms, each holding distinctive object. Mouse in front of figure. Lettering in an Indian script. On the reverse side is a seated human figure in ceremonial dress with four arms, one of which holds a spear. Peacock at the figure's left side. English inscription: 'Chithra Bag Works Madras-7.'

Figure: large u shaped ear has a tapered downward extension, tip melds with body; large eye ovoid has ovoid pupil in pointed eyelid lines; curved open beak, back of lower mandible rests on body; body has a partial profile humanoid face with a large curled nostril attached to the upper lip band above large square teeth; split u forms in front of face and on lower left; bent leg next to body has a two-clawed foot; arm extension from base of u form in front of face terminates in a hand with an outward facing palm, bent elongated thumb touches shoulder, ovoid in palm, u form below. The shorts have blue band around each leg and around waist. The back is is decorated with yellow and blue starburst patterns. Zigzag trim in fine white braid around each leg and three rows of fine braid also encircles the waist. The front has a starburst pattern and a stylized design in blue, white and gold applique and white and black braid. The waist has a drawstring.

Fine hand-woven cotton bag with hand straps. White with wide bands of red woven in and a small chain-like embroidered stitch in blue on each side of red band. Bands alternate with three embroidered motifs, in green, blue, and red. Similar design in green and black on handles. Lined with mill cloth; machine sewn on the two sides. Opening bound with black weave.

Rectangular, hand-woven shawl made of fine hand spun silk and cotton mixed yarn, decorated with cotton threads woven into the natural colour ground. Border design repeated at both ends, is an open band of alternating figures: stylized humans one above the other in mirror image; and an elaborated geometric motif. Narrow stripes at borders. A small triangular motif covers ground at widely spaced intervals. Detailing in red and black.
