Belt with a central band of geometric and bird motifs in dark brown on off-white with a light blue band running the length of the centre. The central band is flanked by bands of blue, dark brown with two rows of dotted off-white lines, and a band of brown and off-white squares. All on red with a braided fringe at one end.

Whaler's HatNb11.336

Conical hat (no liner) with knob at crown; wrapped twine cedar warp over grass horizontal weft. Purple-black dyed cedar decoration with three rows of checkerboard at bottom (rows 3-5). On main brim of hat are two horizontal bands with a whaler, holding a harpoon, standing in a canoe with a whale to the right. Above each canoe is a line with three diagonal spurs along top of line and at widest point of knob are three checkerboard rows. Twining varies in element size with wider elements in four rows around centre, at brim, below meander and on knob. Inside is cedar slat head band with evenly spaced, wide, vertical grass supports worked into the basketry at top of band and ending in two rows of twine at bottom.

Profile arched blackfish with the head on the left side. Has red designs on the snout and the cheek. An open black mouth with upper and lower teeth and a red tongue. Reclining female figure in the centre of the fish has a frontal head with a lower lip labret and a profile body containing an embryo. Base of the dorsal fin has an ovoid with a frontal human face wearing a segmented high crowned hat and a four fingered hand at the top of the fin. At the base of the pectoral fin, there is a diagonal ovoid with a frontal face. At the base of the tail fin, there is an ovoid with a frontal human face. Black and red designs on the lower portion of the body. Artist's initials are below the tail fin on ther right. Pencil inscription across the bottom edge reads '45/195 22/2/78 BLACKFISH Roy Henry Vickers'. The print is on a vertically rectangular, light brown paper piece.
