Apron949/9

Natural coloured apron with cross-stitching. The apron is rectangular with the upper corner sewn down and a natural coloured band of cotton across the top edge. Blue cotton ties are attached to the ends of the waistband. On the apron skirt are three vertical panels of geometric motifs in red, pink and black on natural coloured ground. The back is unlined.

Light green damask silk pants. The pants have a wide blue cotton waistband, centre gusset and wide straight pant legs. The bottom of the legs light green trim and stitching in black and white. The damask is woven with a large floral motif. The inner lining is blue cotton.

Skirt1562/2 a-c

Black pleated skirt (part a). The skirt has a wide waist band with loops at both ends. Tiny pleats are gathered into the waistband. A thin purple and red ribbon is sewn on the lower half. The inside is unlined. Long narrow woven band (part b). The band has broken and solid tan lines on a dark blue ground. At one end the strands are unwoven, twisted and knotted. Long narrow woven band (part c). The band has broken and solid tan lines on a dark blue ground.

Baby Carrier1562/7

Maroon and black carrier. The carrier is rectangular with an added piece, creating a T-shape. The ends are maroon corduroy woven with a leaf motif. The centre and added piece have woven butterfly, bird, swastika and vase motifs on black ground. There is a thick border along one side of the maroon pieces and around the added piece. The border has stripe, meander and geometric bands. The back is lined with back fabric.

BasketNb7.313

Oval cedar bark basket with a square bottom and dark brown diagonal overlay decoration. Decoration consists of four pair of two parallel lines each of dyed cedar bark. Decoration starts near the rim and turns at the corner of base and proceeds up towards the opposite rim, resulting in the decoration covering all sides of basket. Dyed bark is seen every other stitch. String handles consist of two bundles of three pieces of string. The two bundles run parallel to each other, joined together at their top edges by another bundle of two or three pieces of string 6 cm. long. String runs inside the basket for 2.7 cm. on one side, and 4 cm. on the other. String does not run on the underside of the basket.

Black wool pants (part b). The pants have a narrow waistband and a centre opening with a hook and eye closure and button fly. There are belt loops, pleats, two inner side pockets and a back inner right pocket. The pant legs are straight with a bottom cuff. The inside of the waistband is lined with cream and blue striped cotton. The inner seams are serged with white thread.

Black tunic with multicoloured applique bands and metal discs. The tunic has a round neck, long slender sleeves, high side slits and side opening with plastic buttons and metal snap closures. There are wide applique bands around the neck, on the sleeves, cuffs, sides and vertically down the back. The bands have a cross and meander motif in red, yellow and green on black ground. Rows of small metal discs border the bands. The inside is unlined.

White beaded panel with tree at centre in brown, green and red beads surrounded by outline of green square, border of red, yellow, green and black animals and another square outline. Around this are 12 of the same symbol in red, yellow, blue and green. A border of red, yellow, green and white arrows, then an outer border of red, white and blue separate bead work from fabric frame. Two bands of red then yellow frame the square, then three bands of geometric shapes, chevron, diamond and diagonal. Dark blue border near edge and red band is the outer most border. Reverse side red cotton.

Leather vest with beadwork and fringe. The vest has a centre opening. On the front are beaded figures wearing a headdress, a yellow flowers and sparkly green clovers. There is a thick fringe on the upper front. There are two pocket openings on the lower front. On the upper back are beaded white and red flowers, sparkly green leaves and a thick fringe. The inside is lined with brown cotton.
