Numerous human figures have been drawn in pencil along the upper bank of the river. The word "gente" has been written in black ink near these figures. The river is filled with floating human figures. Below the river, the words "Rio lempa" have been written, and an inscription in the lower left-hand corner reads "este dibujo es eho por Nora Alfaro su edades de 13 anos y bibe aquiem mesa grande". A narrow strip of word-processed text has been taped to the front, at the bottom of the page, and it reads "When we were crossing 'the Lempa' looking for a safe place in Honduras, helicopters were shooting on us. And they killed relatives."
