Jatayu character wayang kulit (shadow puppet) from Ramayana series. Flat shadow puppet cut from hide. Large bird with wings spread. His feathers are various shades of reds, blues, oranges with white highlights. His red chest feathers are in a diamond-like pattern, and yellow flame-like feathers extend down from his red head. Operated by one central horn rod.

She has long black hair which extends down her back. She wears a short ornate dress. The tips of the thumb and index are held together, while keeping the other fingers straight (Mudra). Operated by three horn rods.
Ramayana headdress composed of a green velvet covered crown (a) that has a bulbous base that narrows and then widens again to a smaller bulbous top with a gold finial. The crown is also ornamented with pieces of gold painted skin that have been cut into ornate geometric shapes, some of which protrude outwards, and these have silver sequins and clear glass beads sewn to them. The base of the crown has a band of multiple pointed pieces of gold painted skin ornamented with sequins and beads. Attached at the back of the headdress is a figure's face made from gold, red, black and white painted skin. The figure has a pointed head, fangs, protruding black hair at the base, and is also decorated with sequins and beads. There are black straps on the inside at the back for adjustment, and two yellow straps at the sides. Accompanying the headdress are the following: a triangular-shaped gold painted skin ornament (b) with sequins and beads and two curled ends to which is attached a gold cord; two gold painted skin ornaments (c and d) with curled ends, sequins and beads, as well as two hanging multicoloured tassels on each; and two gold painted skin ornaments (e and f) consisting of an ornate piece with sequins and beads, each attached at a perpendicular angle to a cross-shaped piece with yellow ties at each end.
A shadow puppet of a figure. Has a black face, and head with a series of circular holes in the hair or the headdress which curls upward and forward. Gold body. Wearing a checkered black and red skirt. Red ground in between the bare feet. There is a horn stick at the centre along the centre, attached with thread, slit vertically along both sides, and curving at the top. Handles are made of horn.
Partially decorated shadow puppet. Arms are articulated at shoulders and elbows with bone joints. Decorative cutouts are at hair, waist, skirt, hands, and feet. Black paint has been applied to the face; white paint has been applied to areas of the regalia; rest of surface has been painted yellow. Both sides of the puppet are painted yellow with white, only one side has black paint.

The shirt is green with gold floral decorations; the skirt is in blues, greens, pink, white, and purples; pants are red with gold, diamond-shaped checkered designs; headdress is in same colours as skirt and goes from forehead down to shoulders; shawl goes over shoulder and down back to below waist; sword has animal head-shaped hilt and is in a black and gold scabbard; jewelry is one band at each ankle and wrist, one ring on each hand, a beaded necklace being held in stationary hand, and earrings; shoes are black with gold floral decoration and they resemble clogs. Articulated arm is controlled by a long horn rod that is attached to the hand; a second horn rod has been split down centre for most of its length and has the height of the set into it.
