Blouse964/4

Woman's choli panel; consists of front panel with sleeves. Made of red light-weight silk which is heavily covered with intricate embroidery and round, inset mirrors. While the panel has roughly cut edges, the bottom and ends of sleeves are neatly finished with embroidery. There is heavy, coarse, brown fabric at the neck. The embroidery is executed in silk thread, predominantly gold-coloured with pale rose, grey-green and black. The size of the circular mirrored pieces ranges in size from roughly 3 mm to 2 cm.

Long white beaded band with interspersed sections of light blue, orange, dark blue, and maroon beads. To rectangular panels hang from one side. Each are marked with an X; one is black and one is red. There is a metal bead at one end of the band and a loop at the other end of the band.

Spoon with ovoid bowl and flat rim that is parallel to the cylindrical handle. The edge of the bowl rim has been burnt to a dark brown finish. An off-white string has been tied near the end of the handle for hanging.

Wooden spoon with shallow, elongated ovoid bowl that merges into a slightly tapering handle that is roughly semicirclular in cross-section. The edge of the bowl, the neck of the handle, and the end of the handle are burnt to a dark brown finish. There is a hole pierced through the end of the handle. There is what looks to be a "2" carved into the handle near the bowl. An inscription in ink on the bottom of the handle says, "UNKOMAASS EASTER 1?76 / SOUTH AFRICA."

Necklace1590/300

Necklace of beads, eight beavers and a George Washington Peace Medal. Necklace strung on string. The pattern starting from the centre back to the medal at bottom centre is one clear bead, one red, one clear, 26 mottled red, a beaver, one blue, three red repeated three times, followed by one blue bead and four red. The medal is oval. Engraved on it is a tree with a First Nations man with pipe and a man of European descent. Engraved below is “George Washington, President 1793”. On the back of the medal is coat-of-arms of the United States, together with engraved motto “e pluribus unum”. Maker’s mark stamped at bottom of medal. Maker’s mark also stamped on each beaver.

Frog Figure1648/6

Large green painted carving of a frog. Frog figure dips inwards at the top in the centre and at the back. Body is bulbous in shape. Sculpture has painted black dots on its back. The front and back feet are angular and have lined grooves demarcating webbed feet. They are pained dark brown-red, along with the mouth. The mouth is wide and slightly opened exposing a thin tongue. The eyes are directly above the corners of the mouth and are painted black with black eye browns and have yellow coloured centres.
