Cake MouldEd1.354

Mushroom-shaped, ceramic rice cake mould (tteoksal (떡살) with cylindrical stem. The top is divided into four sections with a recessed linear design. There is a hole in the stem through which a fibre cord is attached.

Buncheong (분청; 粉靑) dish with stamp impressed designs with repeated stylized chrysanthemums patterns. Interior surface: geometric border around rim; chrysanthemum design in centre; abstract chrysanthemums pattern in background. Exterior surface: rows of dotted motifs inlaid on the surface, including the unglazed bottom and foot; border of lines at rim.

Canoe Prow2546/1

Partly painted and partly burnt canoe prow fragment. Made up of two large pieces and one smaller, held together by nails. The outside of the prow is charred black at the burnt end, and is edged with thick vertical white bands toward the front, then a section of light brown wood with sporadic patches of black paint, and ends in a point that is painted pink. The inside is partly charred, and has irregular patches of light brown wood and flaking pink paint.

Simon Peter mask with painted red face and brown goat skin hair. The face has an open mouth and holes drilled for eyes. Above the eyes strips of goat skin are attached for eyebrows. The goat skin hair covers top of head and extends around neck and forms a hood for the wearer. A twisted tie is attached to the goat skin on the left side.

Plain white cloth with black embroidery of seven vases with ribbons, holding different flowering branches. Center five vases have a sword and its case behind the vase. Embroidered bottom border on all three sides of alternating flower and fruit on the sides, and a repeating water and landscape scene with willow, pine and fruit trees, fisherman, bridges, animals, pagoda, fish and phoenixes. Embroidered hem on all three sides of zig-zag and lines.

Plain white cloth with black embroidered scene of ship at center with banners and flags at bow and stern, and pagoda, six people. Motifs on either side of ship are identical with two phoenixes at top of elaborate tassel design. Motifs at either end are also mirrored of three people, one on mule and two others holding umbrella-like covers. In between each scene is a flowering plant at top, and a potted plant, insect, person at table and on ship along bottom.

Plain white cloth with black embroidery of four large vases and two small. Two large vases on either end are identical with flowering branch, geometric pattern on vase and unknown item behind vase. Vase to right of center holds fruiting branch, tassel. Butterflies on either side, a bird, and an instrument (?) behind vase. Small vase at center holds flowering branch. Large vase to left holds flowering branch, and instrument shows behind vase. Small vase to left holds single flowering branch and has narrow neck and simple design. Two selvedges, two hemmed ends.
