Paddle1768/100

Carved paddle painted on both sides; painted black, red and olive green. Eye, feathers, head of an eagle, ovoid body and smaller ovoid with feather shapes painted onto paddle. Rounded grip on end of handle is carved and painted with similar designs.

Square based birch bark container with oval top. Stitched design at top rim. Top has overlapping around edge and a stitched zigzag pattern below it. Sides have various knots in back. Ends overlapped and sewn. Top rim was dyed, but colour has almost faded away.

A square based birch bark container with round rim. The sides are sewn together in overlapping panels with root. The top is bound with overlapping stitches and there is a skin handle. There are three flowers painted on one side, one flower and two leaves on the other.

Button Blanket1768/93

Button blanket made of black wool with a red stroud wool border along the top and sides and an applique bear design flanked by two Wasgo-like figures in red wool filling the central area. The design is accentuated with off-white shell and plastic buttons. Two buttons and loops are attached to each side of the centre top.
