Ankle-high boots with moccasin style soles and turned-up, pointed toes. Loose tops are held close to the ankle by multi-coloured woven straps ending in narrow braided red and tan cords. Unlined, machine stitching.
Reindeer fur mittens (part a-b) are lined with wool and edged with leather. The fur is a mixture of light brown, dark brown and white. The mittens are lined with brown wool (knit in k2p2 ribbing). There is brown leather sewn around the edge of the wrist opening. There is a small leather tie attached to one side of each mitten.
A man's hat with an attached leather and plastic eye shade (5 cm at the widest point). Has a horizontal band (12 cm) of multi-coloured fabric, rickrack, braid, and a 14.5 cm band of bright blue fabric appliqued with red and yellow vertical stripes. Very large red wool pompom on the top.
Brown leather man's belt is decorated with two rows of white painted metal grommets along the length of the belt. Extra holes form an x-shape near the centre. A bone needle case, containing a sinew threaded needle attached to a fabric and leather strip, is tied to the belt with a 2-ply leather cord. There is an antler ring at the end of the needle case. Leather strips are attached to each end of the belt, one has a metal belt fastener and the other has a series of holes, the last three holes have metal grommets. There is a separate leather strip (b) attached to the end of the belt. Fastened with a narrow (1.6 cm) strap and silver buckle. A tool made from a hollow long-bone (presumably reindeer) is attached with a leather thong.
A length of silk warp-face ikat textile, with large-scale, bold, stylized motifs in blue, white and yellow on a yellow background. Red selvages. Torn edges on both ends.
Long rectangular hanging constructed of wool cut pile textile. The top edge of the hanging is concave, while the bottom edge is straight and is finished with very long red and black fringes that are overlaid with a netting of brown and white braided fibre. Five large diamond-shaped designs, which are embellished with many smaller geometric motifs, are prominently displayed in the design field. The designs are worked in black and off-white on a dark red background.
Very heavy brown and orange, flat weave wool textile. Eight horizontal stripes of varying widths are embroidered with geometric motifs onto the surface of one side of the textile; some of the embroidered motifs are very densely worked and closely stitched, while others are simple and more open. Embroidered motifs are worked in black, dark blue, green, brown and off white wool yarn. Hemmed at top and bottom. The back side of the textile is a darker shade of orange than the face of the textile.
A flat, rectangular bag constructed from very heavy, flat-weave, patterned wool textile and decorated with twisted fringe, tassels and a wide band of braided latticework. The bag is predominantly brown, with several horizontal bands of light yellowish brown geometric motifs, consisting of arrangements of diamonds and triangles. The horizontal bands are trimmed with brown, black and dark orange twisted fringe. The wide decorative latticework band at the bottom of the bag is comprised of thick strands of braided fibre that are interlocked with one another and trimmed with white glass beads. A 4.5 cm wide woven wool shoulder strap is attached to the top of the bag. Its design and weave differ from the textile of the body of the bag.
Embroidered, multi-coloured, flat, square envelope style bag or purse made by folding and stitching a square piece so that three of its corners meet in the centre, leaving the fourth corner free to form a flap. The seams are roughly sewn with yellow thread. The geometric embroidered designs are worked in white, black, blue and yellow silk floss on red, loosely-woven cotton textile. In addition to stitchery, the piece is embellished with mirrors.
Densely embroidered square textile, stitched overall with meandering patterns worked in orange thread in chain stitch on a background of purple silk or cotton textile. The design field is divided into four equally sized squares, separated from one another with rows of narrow gold metallic braid. The textile is embellished with five large (4 cm) ornamental discs, made from several layers of black cotton textile, topped with a layer of red cotton textile and embellished with white cowrie shells, blue glass beads and white shell buttons; one of these discs is located at the centre of each of the four sides of the textile, and there is one in the centre. The textile is edged with blue and white glass beading on all four sides. The embroidery is backed with a layer of dark red cotton textile.
