Wall Hanging3457/1

A white woven wall hanging with knotted loops along the upper edge and long fringe along the lower. Fringe and loops are beige. Rows of designs spaced across entire surface. From top to bottom, the designs are: dark brown band with alternating white and light beige diamonds through the centre, vertical zigzags, plain olive green band, plain peach line, row of light beige crosses with dark brown centres, plain peach line, plain dark brown line, row of light beige crosses with dark brown centres, thick plain dark brown line. The zigzag motif is in the largest design. Central zigzag is white and is mirrored on either side by lines done in light beige, olive green, peach and dark brown. Bottom of blanket is gently curved.

Blouse Panel2658/3

Finely stitched, reverse appliqué blouse panel or mola with a striped design in pink, green, orange, blue and black on a dark red ground. Depicted is a black animal figure with a human face holding a stick with an 8-shape on the end. Above and below the figure are geometric shapes of triangles, diamonds and ovals. In the upper corners is an owl with white, yellow, pink, black, blue, orange and green detailing. The bottom corners have orange, pink and green birds. The panel in lined with black fabric.

Blouse Panel2658/5

Finely stitched, reverse appliqué blouse panel or mola with a striped design in red, pink, green, orange, blue and white on a black ground. Detailed are four birds in profile, one in each quadrant of a two panel design; all facing the same direction. Wings are decorated with vertical reverse appliqué areas. Two birds are grouped into one panel; two panels make up the mola. Each panel is outlined with a white border. The panel is lined with white backing fabric with splashes of colour printed on.

Long, rectangular, mat with seven blue, lengthwise stripes alternating with six thinner, beige stripes. The two edges have maroon stripes along them. Fringes at either end are formed from the thin warp strands.

Finely stitched, reverse appliqué blouse panel or mola with a striped design in pink, green, orange, blue and black on a dark red ground. In the centre is a toucan-like bird in profile with a swirl design embroidered in fine chain stitch. There is a small bird on right side at bottom with plant motif on opposite side. Appliqué is enhanced with embroidery in chain stitch and small V shapes. The panel in lined with black fabric.

Reverse appliqué blouse panel or mola that is precise and finely stitched. The design consists of overall horizontal sinuous red and black bands outlines in yellow in the form of rounded reversing open lozenges, enclosing small lozenges. The panel has yellow backing fabric. The edges are raw.

Boots1769/1 a-f

Pair of outer boots (parts a-b) with one pair of outer liners (c-d) and a pair of inner liners (e-f). The boots are made with fur soles and skin uppers, decorated with three bands of rickrack in red, green and dark blue. The seal skin legs have mottled grey seal fur at the base, a band of off-white seal fur, a band of dark grey seal fur, and another band of off-white seal fur at the top. The edge is trimmed with dark blue fabric through which is threaded a red, yellow, green and dark blue wool drawstring. The outer liners are made of off-white felted wool with sole and foot sections joined in green herringbone stitching and the top edged in a decorative blanket stitch. The inner liners are taller than the outer liners and are made from off-white felted wool with the top band embroidered with four floral motifs and edged with red and green zigzag design in wool yarn.
