Ornament2878/10

Hammered, silver, circular ornament made up of four concentric circles, each of which supports a repeating pattern of a triangular motif. Each triangle is made up of six dots or circles, widest at the base, with the single topmost dot attaching to the next concentric circle. The number of triangles in each circle increases with the increased size of each concentric circle.

Earrings2878/9 a-b

Pair of brass earrings, each made of a single cylindrical length of metal, bent into an elliptical-shaped hook at the top end. A metal wire is wrapped closely around the length of each earring, and there is a brass ball at the base of the length.

Necklace2878/8

Women's circular-shaped brass neck ring, open at the top. There is spiraling groove carved around the central two-thirds of the neck ring. Both ends taper at the opening and are smooth with no carving present. One tapered end curves to make a “U” shape, while the other end has a much broader bend.

Necklace2878/7

Woman's short, choker-style necklace composed of six strands of oval red and round white glass beads in an alternating pattern, organized in four sections separated by three carved, flat, elliptical cow bone pieces. Each bone piece is incised with a dark brown pattern of four groups of concentric circles arranged in a line down the centre surrounded by dots. The strands are tied together at each end and there is a metal hook closure attached to the stands with fibre.

Woman's necklace composed of 15 strands of green, round, glass beads with a small repeating pattern of red, round, glass beads. All strands are knotted together at each end, and the ends are in turn knotted together to close the necklace.

Necklace2878/4

Woman's necklace comprised of eight strands of beads separated and held in place by four evenly spaced long, flat cow bone ‘dividers’. The 'dividers' mark out five sections of green, red, and white round, glass beads. In the sections on either side of the central section there are also red oval glass beads. Seven of these oval red beads are also found in the first and fifth section, closest to the closure. The tie is made of blue string that is tied tightly in a knot.

Woman's necklace comprised of eight strands of beads separated and held in place by eight evenly spaced long, flat cow bone ‘dividers’, which are carved with a cross-hatch pattern. Within the 'dividers' are: six sections of red, oval glass beads, framed by white-blue beads; two sections of the same red and white-blue beads with additional circular, flat, red beads decorated with crescent moon and stars on one side and Arabic characters on the other, flanked by green white beads; and one section of red, white-blue, and green beads nearest the tie closure. The tie is made of greying thread that is tied tightly together in several knots.

Shawl2878/2 a

Light brown shawl made of two pieces of textile sewn together. There are several lines of geometric designs on the bottom of the textile next to the fringe, which include: “zyak chot” or line dance design, “mun-gu-zyeek chot” or fly design, “bir-ra kum-ba chot” or male goat (or markhor/wild goat) crossed horn, “o-si-chin gam-bu-ri chot” or sallow tree flower design (which is found in the centre), and "mishari chot" or mixed design. The designs are woven from several different colours of wool. The reverse side shows the loose thread ends from the designs. (Part b is a needle used for fastening).

Dance Sash2878/1

Long white sash divided into fourteen uneven, multi-coloured, woven sections. There are several design styles represented including the “mi-shar-ri chot” or mixed design, “o-si-chin gam-bu-ri chot” or sallow tree flower design, “bir-ra kum-ba chot” or male goat/markhor crossed horn design, “pati-chot” or woman’s waist band design “pati-chot/pon-du-i-ruk” or small circle design (which appears as diamond shaped) and “shin-guk chot” or goat horn design. There are fringes on either end of the sash which are light brown and multi-coloured wool. There is also a willow loop that encircles the sash for fastening.
