Mortar ?A2438

Mottled yellow-brown and grey oval stone with a concave top surface and carved with three faces around the sides that are grooved. On the longer sides, one side has crescent-shaped eyes with a downward turned mouth while the other side has grooved eyes, a triangular nose, and a thin mouth. One of the shorter sides has a double face with a mouth in the middle of two pairs of eyes, the top ones of which are circular while the bottom ones of which are oval. The other shorter side has a large groove around the middle.

Raven RattleA2468

Brown wood rattle with the top piece in the general shape of a raven that has a reclining man on its back with his protruding tongue held in the beak of a bird's head which sits opposite him on the raven's back and the bottom piece in the shape of a rounded semi-oval emphasized by an incised hawk's face on the belly of the raven with a recurved beak. The rattle is split horizontally through the body and through part of the handle. The upper and lower sections are joined at two places on each side with small withes tied through holes. Nails have been used to secure the top part of the bird's head and string binds the handle. The handle projects from the raven's tail. The raven has black ovoid eyes surrounded by a plain tapering oval and a black ovoid. The black head has a plain circular nostrils and there is a red disc in the red lined beak. The reclining man on top has its head resting on an inverted red split u. The man's flat face has similar facial features to that of the raven, except for the nose which is black. The man has a red body with four digit black hands and four digit red feet. The bird's head which is opposite to him and connected by the tongue also has similar facial features, except there are no nostrils and there is a red u form within a black one at either bottom side. The raven's side wings are plain with vertical black dashes. The raven's tail has a black ovoid along the upper part and four red and black feathers. The bottom piece that is the belly of the raven has a hawk's face with black ovoid in ovoid eyes surrounded by a tapering oval and a black ovoid, a red u form below at either side, a black beak nose, and an open red mouth showing fifteen black teeth and a red tongue. Below, there is a vertically bisymmetrical red design consisting of eye forms and a beak with a pair of black u forms above along with a black triangle below and around the sides, a black ovoid eye form with a red split u above. Above the hawk's face, there is a vertically bisymmetrical red design consisting of eye forms with a pair of black u forms below and s shapes above.

Whale MaskA5300

Whale mask, or headdress, with a protruding ridge from the top lip over the nose as well as a moveable jaw, tail, dorsal fin, and pectoral fins. The mask or headdress is painted black with white designs on the tail, back and nose ridge, designs in green, red, white and black on the fins, green around the eyes, red nostrils, black eyebrows outlined in white, and white and red over the red mouth.

Mask with heavy black eyebrows, red nostrils and lips, a red teardrop shape on each cheek with a curved line extending from the tip of the teardrop shape around three black gill-like elements beside the mouth. The mouth is open with two rows of teeth showing. The chin is slightly pointed and the brow is furrowed. The remainder of the face is painted white.

He is painted with a light blue upper garment and a mint green lower garment. The copper that he is holding is painted with an upper section that has a small horizontal oval face with its facial features painted black. This face has a five-pointed red sun-like-shaped outline around it. There is a black hand painted at each lower corner of the upper section of the copper. The lower section of the copper is painted black with three pairs of upward pointing arrows with a vertical line down the middle. The bear's black eyes are surrounded by a mint green area with black brows above. The raven that is in its mouth has black eyes that are surrounded by a mint green area with light blue around the sides of the head, black brows above, and a red lined beak. The raven's wings, which are kept close to its body, each have two side-by-side pair feather sections painted mint green and red outlined with black. The thunderbird's black eyes are surrounded by a mint green area with black brows above and a red lined beak. The upswept wings each have six feather sections painted mint green and red outlined with black, except for the innermost feather section which is simply outlined with black. The chest has a face that is painted with black facial features.
