Oval, trough-like container; open at both ends, long sides turned up; wood stained with ochre; inner surface adze marked, smoothed with use. Open ends are stained and worn from use. Outer surface has adze marks all over. Seven digit number scratched on base.
Hardwood, varnished, flat paddle that is thicker in depth at the handle end which flares outward and then tapers back to a point. Blade tapers to a rounded paddle end. Hole at the angled handle end. Centre of the handle end tapers both to the paddle and to the handle ends.
Large wood handle and small iron blade with slightly convex tip that is inserted into a split in the end of the handle.
Plain, canoe-shaped dish carved from a solid plank of wood. Dark brown-black in colour with adze marks visible on most surfaces.
Dark brown canoe-shaped dish decorated with brass studs which have been adhered to the rim. Adze marks visible on the exterior of the bowl. Brass studs grouped in sets of three, centred on the rims of each of the four sides. Small holes have been made through the base of the dish and one of the longer sides.
Tall square bentwood box (part a) with a slightly flared lid (part b). The front and back are painted red and black in different Northwest Coast stylized distributive designs. The front and back have complex designs. The side panels are painted with a black ovoid with a red line attached at the top right and bottom left corners. Box is adzed, kerfed, steamed, bent, last corner pegged, bottom pegged and nailed. The lid has traces of black paint and made of a single piece of wood.
Bentwood box, kerfed, steamed, bent, adzed. Pegged at one corner, and bottom of all sides. Three sides are decorated with an incised rectangle, leaving an undecorated border around it, that has carved horizontal lines. Fourth side is plain.
Bentwood box with a lid, bent with outside corners opened and joined at the seam with wooden nails. Three of the four sides have chiselled decoration: one of the longer sides is almost completely covered in rows of chiseling with a border of relatively smooth wood, and the two shorter sides are split down the centre with one half chiseled in rows, and the other half chiseled at the top with four rows and a border on the sides and top of relatively smooth wood.
Tall square bentwood box (part a) with flat lid (part b). The front and back are painted red and black in different Northwest Coast stylized distributive designs. The front figure has bird-like features with a central circle for a beak and talons along the outer edge. The back also has bird-like features with a crest made of u and split u-forms. The side panels have a faded red design of an ovoid with two u-forms attached near the bottom left corner. The box is pegged together at the side seam and on the bottom.
