Long rectangular board depicting three figures that are divided vertically by diamond-shaped geometric borders. The top figure is shown in profile and is wearing a grass skirt around the waist, the middle figure is shown standing face forward, has short hair, and is wearing a black dress, and the bottom figure is shown in profile, is wearing a headband, and is also wearing a black dress. A sticker on the back of the piece reads: " African Art... Durban South Africa." There are two evenly spaced holes at either end of the piece.

A light thin bamboo grass knife that is carved, and decorated with a tooth pattern edge along the handle which has a dark linear and zig zag pattern on a natural light-coloured background. The end of the handle has a simple finial. The straight blade comes to a sharp point.

Carved wooden neck rest with two-lobed base, two arching vertical supports, and a roughly rectangular top that curves slightly downwards towards the centre and has a band of zigzag pattern carved into each end. Underneath each end of the rectangular segment is a curved extension. The bottoms of the curved extensions, the ends of the top segment, and the arching vertical supports are all burnt ? to a dark brown finish.

A brown wood ladle with a deep circular bowl and a pierced geometric design on the handle. The handle design consists of two central rectangular sections, each of which has an 'x' cut out, and is connected to the bowl with a leg-like prong feature with an arch and a point at the top.

Wooden model of corn storehouse in two segments: conical roof (part a) that fits onto a building base with four roughly cylindrical stilts (part b). Both segments have designs burnt onto the surface: the roof has a grid design, and the building base has a triangular motif.

Wooden model of a mortar (part a) and two pestles (parts b and c) for corn grinding. Burnt into the wood is a geometric design of diamonds around the rim and triangles around base of mortar, and each pestle has two bands burnt into them.

Thumb piano consisting of nine metal prongs attached to wooden base with a metal bar that has been secured with metal wire, and supported by a strip of metal sheeting. The sides of the thumb piano each have a raised wall that curves inwards, and the top and bottom ends curve outwards. There is a burnt design of triangles and lines on the bottom end, and of zig-zag lines on the side walls.

Knife with metal blade that tapers towards tip. Wooden handle flares towards butt end and has two holes through the centre. The handle is also decorated with burnt circles and has a metal ferrule at the top to help hold the blade.

Cylindrical ring carved from wood that sits on one flattened side, and the edges are serrated with three segments of the edge burnt to a dark brown finish. Around the centre of the ring are two raised, diagonally ridged bands that are accented with two bands of dark brown burnt wood and these bands are crossed by two lines of dark brown at the top of the ring.

Axe with wooden handle that has a cylindrical shaft that flares to a triangular shape at the top where a dark brown parallelogram design and solid band at the bottom design have been burnt into the surface. The butt end of the handle has also been burnt to a dark brown finish. The blade is a narrow triangular shape with a tip that passes through the handle and curves upwards to a point on the other side of the handle. The blade has an engraved zigzag design along its length on both faces and has a sharpened and slightly curved edge.
