A long thin cylindrical brown wood shuttle that has an oval "eye" at each end. Both eyes have a split along the middle at each pointed end. The shuttle is carved with a simple line decoration consisting of short horizontal lines along the outer edges of each eye, and three horizontal grooves near the junction area between each eye and the long thin cylindrical component.

A plain handle which tapers to a mushroom-shaped finial, below which there are two horizontal rings carved at the top under the finial. Twelve long teeth fan outward radially. Twisted fibre cord is coiled around the middle.

Long rectangular carved board. Carving depicts three figures that are divided vertically by diamond-shaped geometric borders. The top figure is shown in profile and is wearing a grass skirt around the waist, the middle figure is shown standing face forward, has short hair, and is wearing a black dress, and the bottom figure is shown in profile, is wearing a headband and a black dress. A sticker on the back of the piece reads: " African Art... Durban South Africa." There are two evenly spaced holes at either end of the board.

Wooden mask of a human face with a broad forehead, a wide nose, cut-out oval shaped eyes, round protruding ears, rounded cheeks, a protruding mouth with top and bottom rows of teeth, and a protruding beard with incised lines denoting hair. Mask is decorated with light coloured linear double-lines on the black background of the face. Grass cording is tied to the rim at the top of the mask.

A small circular metal coin (part a), and a wood stand (part b). On one side of the coin (part a), there are eight trigrams in relief arranged in a circle while there are Chinese characters in relief on the other side. The stand (part b) has a semi-circular shape within which to fit the coin into the slot, and another slightly wider semi-circular shape to create two legs.

A hollow cylindrical bamboo grass piece that has an exterior surface design consisting of lozenges, herring bone, and two fish finely done in dark on a light natural-coloured background. There is a long opening approximately three-quarters the length of the case.
