A delicate carved thin brown piece that has, near the bottom, its tongue separated along its edge but joined to the main part of the instrument at the bottom. The handle has a serpentine design.

A long wood sheath which is open at both ends. The sheath is made of two side-by-side pieces which are held together at one end by a wooden peg in the middle. The upper part of the sheath is bound in a thick leather band.

Pipe shaft (a) and a bowl (b) that fits into the top of the pipe shaft. made from a length of bamboo grass with bands of arabesque pattern stained (?) black. The bowl is stained dark brown and has a flat, circular mouth, carved around the rim, with a cylindrical shaft and notched base. The base of the pipe shaft is pierced with several holes, has u-shaped indents cut out of the edge and is incised with a linear design that follows the edge.
