Screen consisting of an embroidered image of an old man and woman raking pine needles below a pine tree framed with wood and with a sheet of glass protecting it. The image is embroidered in off-white, light pink, blue, brown, black, green and gold on a light orange-pink fabric background. The wood frame is divided into sections around the image with low-relief geometric designs as well as elongated oval holes, there are two vertical pieces at the sides of the frame with more geometric low-relief design as well as a finial at the top of each, two arched feet at the sides, and cloud-like carved protrusions at the top corners. The frame has a dark red-brown finish.

Panel composed of four cells, each with a portion of a carved pine tree, rocks, and bamboo in low relief on a background of vertical and horizontal slats with white rice paper adhered to the reverse. From PR to PL, the panels are parts a-d.

He is wearing a beaded white necklace with two round orange beads and two crescent-hook-like yellow beads. His shoes are leather. His elaborate hairstyle consists of a bun at each side of his head with an hour-glass-like shape. His arms and hands are bent out at different angles in front of him. Male shogun with a white face and dressed in traditional costume in black and lined with red. He is wearing a black cap-like hat and has a sword attached to his belt behind his back. There is a long train panel which is black on one side and cream-coloured with a circle pattern on the other side. Standing on a black rectangular base.

Standing samurai doll dressed in long ceremonial (hakama) in colours of turquoise and white brocade. He is holding a sword in his left hand. The base is made of a section of a coniferous tree trunk. Label reads "Japan".

The monk sits with his right leg lying on the floor bent at the knee toward his left knee that is folded up and over. He is holding prayer beads with his left hand. He is dressed in a long robe and trousers. Four characters carved are in relief across the top. The background is light brown wood. The frame is dark brown. A dark maroon-red ribbon-like string is tied through metal rings at the top.
