Grave FigureA1780

Carved wooden standing figure. Represents a female, with her face carved in deep relief. Heavy brows which formerly had hair and eyebrows of bear fur. Some white paint left on chin and cheeks. Large deep eyes, wide downturned nose, opened mouth, and pronounced breasts. Remnants of strips of skin (hair lost) attached to forehead. Arms alongside body and hands on hips. Wide legs. Skin remnants also near groin.

Canoe PaddleA129

Paddle painted black except for one side of the blade on which a scene is painted in oils. It shows a plank house with a totem pole in front. In the foreground, there stands a woman who is bare to the waist and wrapped in a red blanket. A background of sky, mountains, and trees and a foreground of vegetation completes the scene. The Chinook words 'Klahoya Tillicum' [hello friends] are painted on the blade.

Wooden, carved, khenkho mask with a long beak that curves downward at the tip. The beak is hinged with pieces of metal wire on either side of a lower mouth. The nostrils are raised and have ovoid shaped cutouts. The beak and nostrils are painted green with white and red edging. The eye is outlined in black on a white background; eyebrow is black. The head of the bird is flat. The inside of the mask is hollow.

Oval shaped mask with protruding forehead and eyebrow ridges, sharp protruding cheek bones, and an open mouth. Strips of skin are attached to the front of each eyebrow ridge. Traces of bright blue paint in eyes and nostrils. Strips of skin are attached to broken portions of the mask around the perimeter and back of the mask with fibre stitches.

Miniature canoe carved out of cedar wood with wolf's head finial on one end. Six unfinished cross-bars support the canoe, which is painted red on the inside with darker red on the inner and top of the gunwale, dark green on the outside with a band of lighter green on the outer gunwale, and white at the ends.

Wood paddle with an expansive design on both sides painted in black on brown. Design consists of an ovoid in tapering oval eye with a split u in front. Underneath, there is a pair of red u forms and a pair of black u forms. Behind this, there is a split u within a larger u form that has a plain ovoid within. Below, there is an ovoid in ovoid with three talon-like features. The tip of the blade has a solid black u form.
