Turquoise stone in heavily ornamented brass-like setting surrounded by small bosses and distinguished by a cluster of four brass knobs at the base. It is mounted on a rounded open band of brass-like metal which is closely ridged all around. At the opening, one end has a cup-like ornamentation while the other end is pointed. Small metal loop is positioned at the base of the setting.
Brass lamp consisting of an open, round container with flaring sides and a large triangular spout protruding outwards. Opposite side has slightly curved handle attached by two brass nails and projecting upwards to three-quarters of object's overall height. Handle's interior mid-point has serrated, triangular projection. Black patina in most areas. Top of it is pierced and bolt with ring eye inserted loosely. Threaded through ring eye is the end of a narrow rod.
Naturalistic brass representation of a deer in slender, delicate style. Small brass flat balls encased by 2 narrow strips of brass wire on each side to form entire open brass work surface on deer's back. Underside composed of crisscrossing brass wires forming open fretwork design. Legs and very thin antlers are solid. Face is humourously depicted with bulging eyes, deep nostrils and an open mouth.
Roughly burnished brass representation of a horse. Hard black material of interior core is distinctly visible through open circular fretwork on underside of belly and throat. 4 raised rosette designs, 1 on each flank. Coiled wire pattern on back. Low relief brass fringe embellishes upper foreface and neck.
Light coloured naturalistic brass representation of a horse. Hard black material of interior core is visible in 4 places on underside. Bridle made of crosshatched narrow raised brass strips. Repeated half chevron design on neck. On back is low relief outline of saddle. Arched tail has linear pattern impressed into it.
Incense burner (a) has nearly spherical main body, with wide mouth 11.7 cm in diameter, high neck, outturned rim; three legs 3 cm high which rest on a round base. Base is incised on sides with zigzag pattern and on top with central yin-yang figure surrounded with 3 yin-yang figures alternating with flowers, fruit and a bird. Body incised with yin-yang designs surrounded by flowers and bird on one side; same on other side with fruit, deer, and pines. Riveted between designs are 2 u-shaped handles 12.5 cm. high with animal heads where attached. Zigzag design around rim. Lid (b) is highly perforated in bat design, with animal-shaped handle.
Incence burner. Part a: main body is bulbous; neck is 3 cm high, 1.8 cm in diameter, with flat rim 2.5 cm. wide; three legs, 6 cm. high, are cast separately and screwed on; around burner are bands of incised and stamped designs including yin-yang symbol above which are panels of scenes; flat handles curving outward with bats at ends, 10.5 cm. high, are also cast separately and screwed to body. Lid (b) has straight sides and rounded top, highly perforated in dragon design, with large dragon head forming handle. Under body of burner is stamped 'Made in Korea'.
Part of a woman’s ornamental headdress that consists of two large, stiff, flat, (roughly) semi-circular pieces, each made of two layers of animal skin (probably lamb or goat), with short, dark curly hair intact, glued together back to back. The top edge of each semi-circle comes to a point, and when worn, the pieces protrude from the sides of the head, resembling large ears. The two pieces are attached together at the bottom end, and as well, are attached with a 7 cm ‘bridge’ made of twisted wool fibre at about mid-point. One side of each of these ‘ears’ is plain, without further adornment, while the reverse side is embellished at the bottom end with five rows of braided cords made of coarse wool fibre. These cords are glued or sewn onto the surface of each ‘ear,’ and then extend down the back of the wearer for approximately 116 cm; they are tied together about 57 cm from the bottom. Ee70 b is a length of loosely twisted wool yarn, with a decorative brass hook at the each end.
Square, slightly concave cloisonne enamel plate with bronze rim. Underside is covered in solid, slightly speckled dull finished blue/green enamel, with single ring foot of bronze. Upper surface has design of 3 bunches of flowers (red, yellow, and light red, all mixed with white) one above the other, with green leaves, the lowest being next to an irregular brown, grey, and light purple shape. All are on black background through which are scattered brass zigzag wires.
Box (a) with lid (b) shaped like a rectangular cube with rounded corners. Box is 2/3 of height; lid the remaining 1/3. Inside is enamelled dark green; underside a slightly lighter green. At centre of underside is brass wire circle with 4 u-shaped wires inside. Edges of box and all exposed wires are brass. Sides of box and lid have red, light red, and orange flowers on green ground with wires in irregular scroll patterns. Along lower edge of box sides are 2 rows of alternating blue half circles. On top of lid, clustered in one corner, is design of morning glories and other flowers with leaves in polychrome on yellow ground.
