Large rectangular mat with woven pattern. The strands are plaited diagonally to the axis of the mat. There are groups of dark cedar strands running at regular intervals through both the warp and weft, creating a geometric diamond pattern. The edges were originally hemmed by replaiting strands back into the body of the mat.

Whaling scenes motif (four on sides of basket and four on top of basket) in red and purple; top has central oval in purple with yellow. Lid is held in place with a cedar flange attached around the upper rim of the basket.

Swamp grass basket (part a) with a lid (part b). Base (part a) has plaited origin with plain twining over wide warp strands. Sides and lid are twisted twined work. Slightly indented flange on the basket (part a). On the bottom rim of the basket and the side of the lid, there is a ribbon of black/yellow/purple/yellow/black. Sides of the basket (part a) have a main design consisting of two turquoise and black representations of an eagle with wings extended facing left and sitting on an arrow. Lid (part b) has a similar design of birds with a black/yellow/purple/yellow/black centre dot.
