Top. Turned, natural wood, teardrop-shape top (part a) with cylindrical metal point implanted at pointed end. The top is bulbous at the middle with three brown grooves encircling. Top end has raised section which tapers to nipple. There is a cut, straight edged rubber 'cord' (part b).

Wooden rattle has hawk face design with recurved beak, blue chin, blue around eyes, and red ears. The reverse has an abstract design in black and red. Consists of two equal longitudinal sections, upper part of each hollowed out to form a closed cavity when the two halves are joined. Short plain handle. The sections are slightly warped.

Frontlet figure? Thin rectangular carving with a concave rear surface, convex front surface. Main area of the front is a human-bird style face on a long neck. Mouth is open with upper teeth of abalone exposed. Nose is shaped as a sharp beak curving down and attaching to lower lip. A panel above the forehead is carved with a humanoid creature with arms and legs projecting from either side of its face. The back has had its side edges smoothed down to make it flatter.
