Plain oval-shaped light brown shell with a small section cut off of one end. One vertical ridge goes all around the sides sectioning the shell in half with another vertical ridge sectioning one side of that in half. Has a point at one end.

Rectangular bentwood box (part a) with lid (part b). The front and back are painted red and black in different designs. The front and back have complex designs. The sides have the same motif of vertical sets of ovoids and u-forms. Designs painted in black and red with stylized forms. The lid has decorative brass studs on three edges; the studs on the front are all gone, except one.

The overcast stitch forms a scallop - the colour sequence is as follows: red/purple/wide band of natural/purple/red/purple/wide band of natural/purple. The darker part of the bark is to the outside.

There are also heavier pieces of bark on the ends and sides for reinforcement. Light side of bark is to the outside and darker flaps are laced on the ends and sides. The rim is overcast splints beaded with black bark. Part of the overcasting stitch leaves the splints exposed.
