Ivory harpoon head with beveled edges and curving sides; diagonal slope across bottom; round open socket hole at bottom; line hole through harpoon head above socket. Blade slit at rounded tip with channel on one side of slit to near centre. Triangular incised line and deeply drilled dot design on all but channeled and bottom surfaces.

Sheathed knife, oval in cross-section, with a wooden handle and sheath. Knife (a) blade is straight then tapers to a point with a ridge down its centre. The handle sides curve with carved bands of diamonds on one side and then taper to a small neck where it is tied with fibre before its fluted end. Sheath (b) is two pieces of wood lashed together with fine coated fibre at neck before fluted end. Wedge shaped projection at other end has a hole through from side to side. Zigzag carved line in central band. Two-tone wood.

Harpoon HeadNa1135

Wedge shaped harpoon head with round socket extending in from centre bottom. Line hole at centre is at a right angle to socket hole, meeting it at the top. Channel runs down on either side of line hole. Blade slot cuts across top of rounded head. Bottom has rounded tang on one side. Both sides are slightly convex, longitudinal cracks along tang side.

Part of a seal drag handle in the shape of a seal's head. The back slopes to a flat end. Longitudinal hole drilled into head from back. Two holes through bottom to longitudinal hole (front hole is at an angle). Down curved incised line indicates mouth, notches at nostrils on flattened snout. Round inlaid eyes with central depressions. Mottled brown. Small hole on either side behind and slightly below eyes.

Line Drag HandleNa1129

Part of a composite line drag handle in the shape of a mitten with the thumb pulled in parallel to rounded and inwardly curving finger section. Round hole runs through from front to back at the centre base of the mitten. A semi-circular hole runs from the bottom surface connecting with round hole. Two smaller holes on either side of semi-circle. Parallel lines run around the circumference of the bottom of the mitten with a series of small perpendicular lines extending up from both lines. On the centre of the convex outer surface is a raised vertical band with parallel dotted lines on either side.
