Dress with intricately embroidered designs in gold thread on striped cotton. The designs have rosette, diamond, herringbone and pyramid motifs. The stripes are red and black on off-white ground. The dress is rectangular with the ends sewn together creating a tube shape. The inside is unlined.
Screen consisting of an embroidered image of an old man and woman raking pine needles below a pine tree framed with wood and with a sheet of glass protecting it. The image is embroidered in off-white, light pink, blue, brown, black, green and gold on a light orange-pink fabric background. The wood frame is divided into sections around the image with low-relief geometric designs as well as elongated oval holes, there are two vertical pieces at the sides of the frame with more geometric low-relief design as well as a finial at the top of each, two arched feet at the sides, and cloud-like carved protrusions at the top corners. The frame has a dark red-brown finish.
Embroidered scene on white silk screen. The scene depicts Mount Fuji with trees and hills in the foreground. The colours are predominantly white, grey, black and green on white ground. The edges are folded to the unlined back.
Orange and black haori (羽織) or jacket/overcoat. The upper portion has white karajishi (唐獅子, literally ‘Chinese lions’), mythological animals based on lions and keman-mon (毛卍文, lion’s curly hair patterns) motifs as the symbol of the sun on black ground. The lower portion has black peony motifs on a resist-dyed orange and white ground. There is a wide band around the neck and down the centre opening. There are black ties on the inside of the centre opening. The short, wide sleeves have an opening under the arms. The upper inside is lined with orange silk.

Silk folding fan with imagery of birds and flowering branches embroidered on both sides. The fan's handle and ribs are made from black lacquered wood painted with golden floral designs.
Seated male figure (part a) dressed in imperial costume, representing the Japanese emperor, with a lacquered headdress above his hair. His robe is predominantly purple (now faded), with red, gold and white. Platform (part b) is wood, in the shape of a book, covered in green cloth with dark orange and white binding.
Battledore paddle with a black handle. One side depicts two warriors in battle with one above, and behind the other. The back warrior has an orange armour with a wild cat fur tail, and one arm extending around above the head. The forward warrior has a purple armour with both hands in front of him. The other side has a painting of a hawk and a pine on the back with red and white blossoms.
Black silk folding hand fan with painted bamboo ribs and ivory end pieces. Pink, red, gold and silver peacock feather designs are painted and stitched onto one side of the fan. A wristlet made from a thin white cord with a clear bead at one end is attached to the base of the fan.
