Black obsidian side-notched point with a flat base. M. Christopher 10/23/1998. Dr. Dennis Jenkins, University of Oregon, sent this specimen to Northwest Research Obsidian Studies Laboratory, Corvalis, OR for analysis (on loan 11/30/98 - 4/9/99). A portion of this specimen was removed for obsidian hydration. The source of raw material was determined to be Hager Mountain. Northwest Research Obsidian Lab placed a paper tag in the specimen bag with the following information: [Lab Contract #] BO-98-91 [Catalog #1989-57/35-M-] 116 [Collection Name] Bergen [Analysis] Specimen No: 49 [Source Location] Hager Mountain See also the following report from Northwest Research Obsidian Studies Lab for more detailed analytical data: Skinner, Craig E. and Jennifer J. Large, thin, bifacial, lanceolate point, with a convex basal edge and a biconvex cross-section. Not serrated. Broken on one side of base. Very unusual material: white with red and yellow inclusions. Blade-stem juncture: Not seperate. Outline: Lanceolate. Basal edge shape: convex. Cross-section: biconvex.
Large, bifacial, lanceolate, chert point, with a slightly concave basal edge and a biconvex cross-section. Not serrated.
Lozenge-shaped projectile point. Tan; base is indented; very thick stem.
