Chest (a) consisting of a square base with feet that has bevelled gold edges at the top; contains a taller drawer at the bottom (b) as well as a shallower drawer at the top (c). A mirror stand (d) with an arched top, curled finials, two curved arms that angle forward (to hold mirror Ed5.2891), and two circular metal inserts depicting birds fits into two square holes in the top of the base. A gold stylized floral and vine design covers the black lacquered chest and stand. The top and sides of the chest each have three leaf medallions with calligraphy in the centre. The drawers have metal ring pulls, each with a leaf design, and are black lacquer with gold trim on the top edges.
Long thin hardwood point set into cane shaft. A plain shaft of ten cane joints with the last one at the base of the point wrapped with stem ? to hold the point. The long dark point is plain. The end of the shaft is wrapped with fibre in a wide round bundle.
Long hardwood point set into softwood shaft. The shaft is painted in sections of white, red, and black from bottom to top and appears to have had some coiling around the lower white area. The end of the shaft has a bit of coiling fibre. The base of the shaft is wrapped with fibre. The long dark red-brown point is plain.
Large paper lantern with bamboo frame. Loosely woven cylindrical frame with paper covering which slides up and down on a long handle. Metal candle spike in centre of base.
Set of brushes with stem (?) handles and hair bristles: a) brush with white bristles formed into a stiff conical shape with the name of the owner incised into the handle in Chinese characters in blue and red; b) brush with white and black bristles, a plastic sticker printed with a design in blue, red, gold and silver on the end, and the name of the owner incised into the handle in Chinese characters in blue and red; c) brush with light brown bristles stained with black ink at the tips and the name of the owner incised into the handle in Chinese characters in blue and red; d) brush with white bristles stained black with ink; e) brush with a light brown shaft and off-white bristles and the name of the owner incised into the handle in white Chinese characters; f) brush with light and dark brown bristles, the remains of a sticker design in blue, gold, red and silver at the end, and the name of the owner incised into the handle in Chinese characters in blue and red; g) brush with a slightly curved handle, white bristles formed into a stiff conical shape, and the name of the owner incised into the handle in Chinese characters in blue and red; h) conical brass cap for part c; i) conical brass cap for part g.
Set of three brushes: a-b) two brushes with wide off-white bristles (the bristles of part a are stained light pink), a black wood ferrule with incised lines that tapers towards the cylindrical bamboo handle that has a piece of paper with a printed image of a bird and Chinese characters and a length of twined and knotted fibre threaded through a hole in the handle near the end; c) a brush with short black bristles, a cylindrical bamboo handle with a black end and a short loop of woven black fibre attached to the end. Each brush has incised characters on the handle shaft near the end: the lettering on parts a and b are in red, and on part c it is in black.
Screen with black lacquered wooden frame and two arched feet. At the centre of the screen is a circular panel with embroidered cherry blossoms in grey, white and black on beige ground over which are three evenly spaced vertical screens with black laquered wood grid frames with a grey silk screen behind each. The central panel is framed by a gold leather textured paper with a band of floral patterned silk in shades of pink and grey on light pink. The reverse is finished with a panel of the same floral silk with a separate border of this silk joined at the seam with off-white woven ribbon.
Pair of black silk boots, or high shoes. Leather and cardboard platform sole, sides covered with white fabric, plain black uppers, with triple cording of black leather running up back, around line of normal shoe height, and up front, where it is doubled around a tin circle at the toe to produce a reinforced upturned false toe. Cotton lining. Cotton insole. Green band at junction of sole and upper.

Pencil inscription at the bottom right reads 'Robert Ryan Seal age - 8'. Drawing on the right is drawn in pencil with pencil and bright yellow and red pencil crayon details. The arch-like grey eye is outlined by a tapering oval. There are two u forms behind the eye and a s-shape behind the open red mouth with teeth and yellow shapes above. The neck has two grey u forms that are yellow with grey vertical dashes within. There is an upside down grey split u below the neck. The back has a face with petal-like yellow protrusions all around. There is a face at the end of the tail. Pencil inscription across the bottom edge reads 'Happy holidays to the staff from Grade III for the staff age - 9 Seal(,) Charlie'.
