Model Totem PoleA8082

A model totem pole depicting the figure of Dzunuk'wa and a bear (from bottom to top). Horse hair represents Dzunuk'wa's hair. Her entire body is painted black, except for the mouth, eyes, and the ears which are also painted red. The bear's eyes are surrounded by a dark blue area with black brows and a red line separating the black mouth. Its arms are painted black. There is a nail at each upper corner on the back .

Model pole carved in very deep relief from a piece of round wood. The lowest figure is a land otter surmounted by a seal, a whale, a bird, a bear, a human-like face and a supernatural crane at the top. The beak of the bird is glued on. The entire pole is painted black.

Carved wooden head of a canine (possibly a wolf) with extended tongue. Extending backward and glued to this figure's neck are three paddle-shaped prongs. In cross section each prong is flat on the outside and convex on the inside. The join between the head and prongs is wrapped with a strip of red-coloured bark.

A narrow model wood canoe that has four seated rowers dressed in red capes with paddles that are red-tipped. The rowers have light brown-cream-coloured paper feathers in their black fibre hair. On one side of the canoe, there is a raven design in black and red.

Warrior dance knife, or baton in the form of Sisiutl. One side is carved but unpainted. The other side has a central frontal head with two upward and outward curling horn-like appendages at the top and a profile head on either side, each of which has another upward and backward curling horn-like appendage at the top.
