Basket of simple coiled work (bifurcated stitches) with watch-spring base construction and an overcast handle. Flange on the attached lid (part b). Basket is decorated with partial imbrication in discrete diagonal stripes that have zigzag shapes alternating in red chery bark and cat-tail grass, and black cherry bark and cat-tail grass. Lid has four cat-tail grass and red cherry bark stripes radiating from the centre. Two rawhide ties and one rawhide hinge.

Basketry TrayA8214

Round basketry tray of simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches) with watch-spring base construction and two coiled rows separated off into handles. Overcast rim and partial imbrication. Twelve pointed star (red and white alternating with black) and a row of tri-colour chevron figures and band of staggered two row figures. Exterior has imbricated figures, the same as the outermost band of the interior pattern.

Rectangular flared coiled basket (bifurcated stitches). Parallel slat base construction. Upper half of basket is beaded on three sides in horizontal rows of staggered cat-tail grass (?) and dark cherry bark. Lower half has vertical beading in red cherry bark. Fourth side has two vertical bands in red, and dark cherry bark. Beading on rim of short bands of red, and dark, cherry bark. Fibre string at each corner.

Long rectangular coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) with high wall on one side with a hanging loop formed from top row of coils. Parallel slat base construction with single diagonal reinforcement stitches. Interior of high side is beaded in parallel rows of grass. Exterior fully imbricated in grass with dark cherry bark imbricated letters on front that say "COMB"; vertical band of horizontal stripes in red cherry bark on each short side. Similar vertical design in red cherry bark on back. Handle has grass beading.

Brown birch bark basket with an oval-shaped top and a square bottom. Birch bark is bent and laced into place. A twig splint around the rim is closely overcast for reinforcement, with several bands of crabapple (?) bark beaded in. Geometrical design is scratched on: two rows of scallops bordering chevron strip. Darker part of bark is to the outside. The overcasting is mainly thin strips of natural coloured root (?) with strips of black dyed root (five stitches wide) - two on ends and two on sides. Only the side portions of the natural root overcasting is beaded in a 1:1 ratio.
