Basket made of birch bark that has been bent and sewn together with birch root. Birch twig around rim is overcast with birch root. Geometric design around sides is scratched on. On one side is lines with triangles (vertex down). On the other side are vertical lines of diamonds. The darker side of the bark is to the outside. (Raley label #165 on base.)

Brown birch bark basket with an oval-shaped top and a rectangular bottom. Bark is bent and laced into place, with birch twine around the rim overcast with thin strips of root--a small strip of bark runs underneath the rim as reinforcement. Large blue and red beads are affixed around the rim. A handle is made from a thin strip of rawhide strung from one side of the rim to the other.

Oblong birch bark basket; birch bark is bent and laced into place. A twig splint is overcast with natural and aniline dyed root. The overcast stitch forms a scallop - the colour sequence is as follows: red/purple/wide band of natural/purple/red/purple/wide band of natural/purple. The darker part of the bark is to the outside.

Birch bark dish. Birch bark bent and sewn into place. The rim is reinforced with splints overcast with birch root and decorated with black bark. A twig is laced on lower down. There are also heavier pieces of bark on the ends and sides for reinforcement. Light side of bark is to the outside and darker flaps are laced on the ends and sides. The rim is overcast splints beaded with black bark. Part of the overcasting stitch leaves the splints exposed.

Birch bark is bent and laced into place. On the rim, splints are overcast (open stitch) and then beaded with red and black yarn. Around the mid-section of the basket a twig is sewn on for reinforcement. The rim is overcast; three stitches, then every other stitch is beaded with black thread (six stitches) then three stitches, openwork, then the next series of three then three overcast.

Brown birch bark basket with an oval-shaped top and a square bottom. Birch bark is bent and laced into place. A twig splint around the rim is closely overcast for reinforcement, with several bands of crabapple (?) bark beaded in. Geometrical design is scratched on: two rows of scallops bordering chevron strip. Darker part of bark is to the outside. The overcasting is mainly thin strips of natural coloured root (?) with strips of black dyed root (five stitches wide) - two on ends and two on sides. Only the side portions of the natural root overcasting is beaded in a 1:1 ratio.
