Black lacquer bowl (a) with lid (b): inside of both lid and bowl fades from black at edges to brown in the centre. Lid has raised circular lip in centre at top.

Pair of black lacquered lamps with golden designs and small light bulbs on atop slender stands. The bases of the stands are brass. The rest, including the plinth which conceals the batteries (parts c-d), is of wood.

Raised overall boss design on pot; wooden lid in red lacquer, with copper knob; open spout; handle splits in two at spout end; three short feet on the bottom.

Black folding paper fan; both ribs and paper have been lacquered black.

Rounded paper hand fan with a black lacquered wooden handle with a length of orange cord tied through a hole at one end. An image painted on one side depicts an old man dressed in a green robe--perhaps Juro (symbol of longevity)--seated on the ground while a young boy on a ladder shines his elongated head. Edges are trimmed with silver. Backside is plain.

Round paper hand fan with a bamboo handle. One side of the fan features a warrior in battle costume. Polychrome on white ground. Black and gold handle. Plain back. Orange fibre cording is looped and tied through a hole at the end of the handle.

Two small white ivory mouse figures with red eyes. The mice are mounted facing each other on a dark brown wooden base.

Lid (b) has decoration consisting of legendary animal surrounded by peonies; main colours are gold and green on a deep brown ground; label on lid and bowl say Made in Japan. Bowl (a) has a tiered black exterior and a smooth dome-shaped red interior.

Decoration of cherry blossoms and maple leaves in gold, light blue, and red; predominantly gold. Base (part a) has inside lip that holds the lid in place.

Box has two sections and a lid. Exterior is red; bottoms are black.
