The ribs are joined with white plastic gromits through which is threaded a dark red cord with a green bead secured by a knot.

Collapsible fan composed of a series of brown lacquered bamboo ribs supporting a folded strip of paper: one face is gilded near the bottom with iridescent metallic squares and speckles, and the other face has a printed image of the silhouettes of two figures, each in a plaid pattern, on a blue ground.

A tanto-like knife with an elaborately ornamented wooden sheath and handle. The knife handle has two inlaid abalone shell butterflies. The sheath has inlaid and raised floral and leaf designs of mother of pearl, ivory, and lacquer work. There is a small green seal.

Red lacquered box (part b) and a lid (part a) with overlaid crest designs and a cart. Within the box, there is an ink stone (part c), and a water pot (part e), which each have a fitted place in a frame. An ink stick (part d), with dark blue and gold writing characters on a black background is also included with a small box that has a lid. Two calligraphy brushes are inside with one brush (part f) having a dark brown spotted pattern on a natural brown background with red and green writing characters and a clear lid while the other brush (part g) has white paper with black writing characters wrapped around the end and a retractable lid.

A wood lacquer box with lid (parts a-b), filled with writing equipment (parts c-o). The exterior design consists of bamboo in two shades of gold on a black background. The interior design consists of bamboo in two shades on powdered black and gold background. Includes ink and a rectangular stamp with a swirled dots design (part g). Two brushes (parts h-i) with lids (parts j-k) are inside with one brush (part h) having gold and black foil wrapped around the end while the other brush (part i) has silver and red foil wrapped around the end. There are two thin rectangular compartments (parts d-e), one at either side. The ink well stone (part f) fits in the centre of a frame (part c), which also has a fitted place at the top for two silver water pots, one (part n) of which has a fitted tray (part l) and a shaped ring (part m) around it. The silver water pot (part n) with the fitted tray (part l) and the shaped ring (part m) around it has the shape of a cloud. The other silver water pot (part o) has the shape of a leaf.

One side panel has an upper section depicting two people looking at another separated from them by a cross-sectioned terrace with a large building on the left and a smaller building in the above background, a middle section depicting two people with one holding a flute-like instrument with a large building on the left and a smaller building in the above background's rocky mountainous terrain, and a lower section depicting two people talking to each other surrounded by a terrace. The next side panel has an upper section depicting two people at either sides of the person in between them with another person in the lower right corner looking across at them and a building at each of the top corners, a middle section depicting two people facing each other with one dancing and a building to the right, and a lower section depicting one person sitting under a tree on the left and another person sitting on a rock on the right. Another side panel has an upper section depicting two people looking at another separated from them by a cross-sectioned terrace with a large building on the left and a smaller building in the above background, a middle section depicting two people with one looking at the other while raising his left arm and the other person holding a long object in his right arm with a building at each of the top corners, and a lower section depicting two small people looking at their superior with one small person farther to the right under a tree. The last side panel has an upper section depicting two people at either sides of the person in between them with another person in the lower right corner looking across at them and a building at each of the top corners, a middle section depicting three people in triangular formation with a building on the right, and a lower section depicting a kneeling person being approached by someone on the right with a building on the left.

His feet are angled outward so that his right foot is more toward the back and his left foot is more toward the front.Has a red finish with traces of gilt.
