Basalt lanceolate with continuous serration. The point was boxed with three points (1999-97/16, 1999097/17 and 1999/97/18) and a note which says: "Arrowheads Whidbey Island, Washington Herman Wanamaker Gifts December 10, 1944" KJG February 2000

Grey chert point which is probably lanceolate in shape. However, both ends are broken. The point was in a box with a note which says: "Arrowhead Whidbey Island, Washington John LeSourd Gifts December 1944. Dec. 15, 1944" The box also contained two basalt points (1999-97/13 and 1999-97/14) KJG February 2000 Exhibits potlids and crenalated surface and was probably thermally damaged post-manufacture (JLF 03/03)

Black obsidian lanceolate biface in the style of Whidbey Island, WA. The tip and base are broken. One side is slightly serrated and the other is convex. The point was in a box with a basalt point (1999-97/9) and a chert point (1999-97/11); neither have provenience information. The point was wrapped in a piece of paper on which was noted: "Arrowhead Whidbey Island, Washington Black obsidian Mrs. F. Armstrong Gift December 8, 1944 02-3" KJG February 2000

Dark grey lanceolate chert point broken near base. Two pieces glued together. This point was on loan to John L. Fagan from 2/3/2005 to 3/18/2005 in order to prepare a paper for presentation at the 58th Annual Northwest Anthropological Conference in Spokane, WA. Fagan analyzed the point to determine manufacture, raw material type, and technological attributes. He concluded that the artifact appears to be the point of a thrusting spear, which broke on impact with an animal. He speculates that the wounded animal subsequently wandered into the deep recesses of a lava tube cave in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, where the point was found. This analysis is described in Fagan's report entitled, "Technological Analysis of a Point from Spearpoint Cave, a Lava Tube on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Skamania County, Washington." A copy of this March 2005 report can be found in the object's accession file.
