Shoulder BagNi36

Small square folded bag with woven strap, twisted and tied at apex. Two double pompoms attached to each lower corner by twisted yarn. The edging on three sides is in blue cross knit loop stitch. The central design is on a red ground and is composed of repeating paired pattern of angular eight pointed star with interior design of four lines, pointed in centre and curled at ends, placed end to end around a square with a central cross. Along the centre are two, eight pointed flowers each having four, two leaf stems with diamond flowers, projecting in each cardinal direction; partial flowers and stems repeated at edges; each face has a different border design. Strap has alternating red and white cross and x design with a green border; folded in half along length; ends stitched to upper corners of bag.

Male CapeNi31

Square cream cotton cape finished on two sides with hem-like stitch while the other sides have two equal strips of red flannel. Below the flannel is a stitched band of yellow stars on a blue, green and pink ground. That band is followed by a repeating bird pattern in red and blue. In the top centre are two orange stars with a red triangular pattern emanating from its points.

One piece, cotton fabric skirt with folded and stitched seams. There are small folds at the attached waistband; the ends are tied. At the base is a cross-stitch design of eight petal pink flowers in green octagons with orange borders. Above the band are seven frontal eagles with their heads in profile, there are two pointed extensions above heads with a long curl at the back of neck. Their octagonal bodies each have a central flower; fan-like wings extended to sides, triangular tail between legs, claws on legs.

Shoulder bag with a square body and an off-white woven strap with a band of repeated zigzag lines in pink. The body has a geometric design composed of repeated floral and stepped diamond shapes. The top border has a series of pink and red crosses on yellow bordered in green.

HatNi32 a

A broad flat rim hat of woven palm decorated with red fabric strips stitched on the crown and three locations on the brim in a cross pattern. Red material is stitched along the edge of the brim. A woven pink, and green band is tied around the crown. Six bunches of white-grey feathers are tied to the crown with string with the number of feathers per bunch varying. Underside of brim is decorated with twenty-three beaded tassels evenly distributed. Woven chinstrap stitched to underside of brim with two beaded tassels on each end. (Also see Ni32 b)

Back ShieldNi35

Small square back shield attached to three sticks. Orange and blue yarn tightly interwoven with bamboo, yarn runs horizontally and bamboo, in seventeen groups of two, run vertically, ends of bamboo are exposed. Blue yarn forms frontal eagle with outstretched wings and head turned sideways, yellow eye. Near top of long vertical four-sided stick, two shorter sticks cross horizontally. Sticks attached to each other on back by cross wrapping green yarn. Shield attached to three sticks by wrapping orange yarn around sticks and through shield, knotted on back. Sticks extend beyond shield. All sticks wrapped in alternating pink and green yarn. Top of centre stick wrapped in pink and yellow-green yarn at topped with a black pompom. Small god's eye on each cross stick, centre is black, then yellow, green and pink, on three points of god's eyes are pompoms.

God's Eye FigureNi15

Square stick has two round cross sticks attached with yarn, one at top and one close to centre. Central cross stick has two small cross sticks attached with yarn to either end. Half circle of wire wrapped in alternating green and black yarn is attached to central cross stick at side on right with blue yarn and to top of square stick with white cord. Wire is free at side on left of central cross stick. Tassels at each end of wire and at ends of sticks. Eleven tassels in total composed of all colours used in figure. Square stick and central cross stick wrapped in alternating pink and green, at base of square stick purple yarn is wrapped in a crossing pattern over pink and green yarn. Diamond formed of yarn at each cross stick: at square stick and central stick are purple, green and black; square stick and top cross stick are yellow, orange and pink; at either end of central cross stick are yellow, pink and purple.

One rectangular piece of cream cotton fabric folded over to form a square sewn at side adjacent to fold, there is a v shaped neck opening at corner. Two sides are open. There is a cross-stitched band, wider at one end with pink eight petal flowers in green octagons. Pink triangles separate octagons at top and base all on an orange ground. Above the band are pink and green birds with flower-like extension at front of beak, diagonal ears, wings and tail feathers.

Double weave band has repeated geometric floral design with another flower at center. Triangles between outer flower. Yellow stripe on purple edges. Each side is the reverse in colour; one side has purple ground with pink flowers, the other other is pink ground with purple flowers. each end has horizontal wavy line bordered by 2 straight horizontal lines, series of thin horizontal lines before 4 twisted tassels at each end.

Square flat woven bag with a long woven strap, geometric design done in cross stitch, identical on both sides. Centre design consists of a pink flower with eight points, outlined in blue, four point flowers placed at four points of central flower. The border design has a solid cross-stitch in purple has small clusters of stitches pointing toward central green untwisting ribbon or scroll; cross knit loop stitch at sides and across top. Two separate pieces form strap, ends are twisted and knotted together at apex, opposite ends are sewn to inside at top edge of bag; strap is pink with a continuous line of blue-green forming a geometric pattern on either side.
