Small drawstring purse of black velvet. Lined with unbleached mill cotton to form three pockets. Drawstring works so that it can be pulled to open and pulled to close using different strings. Tassels of wrapped pink silk thread bound in metallic-covered thread decorate the black cotton cord of the drawstring.

Textile composed of a length of dyed cotton divided into five large panels of design in mottled red and dark red on a solid dark red ground. The end and centre squares have a mask motif, and these are separated by two sets of two square designs side-by-side. These two motifs consist of a lizard on one side and a mask pattern similar to the larger version. The textile has two selvedges running the length of the cloth and the ends are raw.

Short handled paddle shape cut from one piece of wood. Flattened female figure on curved cardboard backing attached to front surface. Figure has a high rounded crown gold hat with a red trim and silver flowers which is tied with a white cord under the chin. Painted face. Multi-coloured brocade gown with conch shell, umbrella, clouds, and mountain design. Her left hand a holds gold and black carrying stick. Red cord on one end attaches to a brocade bag. Figure is raised by three wooden props: one under the shoulders and two under the head. Handle is covered with green and gold brocade in a tortoise shell pattern. Face of board covered with sille painted with wisteria. Back is painted with a black branch and white berries. Small metal bell under head of figure.

Black cotton skirt with bold printed border floral-like design in various tones of yellow, orange and light brown. Material is sewn together to form a tubular shape but has no other finishing than the three machine-stitched seams. Along the edge in blue is the bears commercial stamp 'Burmese Style A-Fents' and map of India motif.

A pair (parts a-b) of shoes for bound feet. The soles of each shoe are made of white cotton fabric, and the thick arch, and heel, in one piece, are of the same fabric over wood(?) lined with finer white fabric. The outer surface, except for the sole, is covered with silk. The lower part is made of light blue-green silk with embroidery consisting of multi-toned pink flowers, and butterflies. The upper part is made of red silk, trimmed with black silk, and multi-coloured silk braid. At the front, there is lattice pattern of pink silk. The body of the shoe has several layers of stiffened fabric.

Altar ClothSf880

Square shaped white silk cloth with gold appliqué cross along the bottom edge. The cross is elaborated with wheat ears between the arms. There are two spiraled vines with appended leaves below the cross. The design is worked in gold thread, sequins and leaf-shaped metal plates with a red stone in the centre. The design has a red outline. The fabric is backed by another red cotton fabric and edged with a woven gold tape which is machine stitched to the base fabric.

A black woven wool flat disc-shaped hat. Embroidery covers the top. Yellow lines the brim and pink lines the inner form. Unbleached cotton lines the centre area. Circles of pink, green, red, and yellow wool and white string are tacked onto top to make plant-like designs. Wear on tie strings.

A shallow disk-shaped wool covered basketry hat. Black on top while the underside is yellow and light red-pink. Black area is divided into four sections by a white cord and stitched on. Cords end in geometric patterns consisting of red, blue, green, yellow, brown, purple, and orange fabric circles and metallic fabrics stitched in a pattern of two star shapes stitched in each section. Underside plain with ties sewn together at chin, and having green and light purple with stitching.
